[Update FIVE 03062014] Fund Raising For Roy Ngerng’s Court Case Against Lee Hsien Loong

As promised, I will continue to update on the funds that are coming in. We have reached our target of $70,000 for the legal fees for the court case. You can read more about what the court case is about and the fund raising appeal here.

I would like to thank everyone for your continued support. We are now awaiting the pre-trial on 4 July 2014, before the court case is decided. Meanwhile, we are working towards the 7 June event this Saturday, #ReturnOurCPF. Do join us at the event as we discuss about the CPF.

Once again, I am grateful to Singaporeans for your encouragement. I will continue to speak up on our CPF and advocate for transparency and accountability on the use of our CPF.

We are $11,000 in excess at this point. The funds will be set aside for any legal costs orders (if) made against me during the court proceedings by the court for me to pay the opposing sides legal cost if I lose any (interlocutory) applications in court. We have currently stopped putting out an active appeal for funds but if the funds continue coming in, I will be open and transparent with them and publish them, so as to be accountable.

Please see below for further information on the funds coming in so far, as of 5.00pm today.

PayPal 2 to 3 June 2014

We have reached the target of $70,000 for the legal and court fees. We have stopped putting out an active appeal funds at this point. For the actual amount of damages, we would only be able to know after the court case is over. Based on past cases, the damages go above $200,000.

I understand that funds might still be coming in – please note that any additional funds will be set aside any legal costs orders (if) made against me during the court proceedings by the court for me to pay the opposing sides legal cost if I lose any (interlocutory) applications in court. If there is any excess, the options will be to donate them to charity – I will consult Singaporeans on the use of the excess funds. I will continue to keep transparent records of the funds so as to be accountable and allow everyone to keep track of the funds. Please do send me your feedback as well on how you would like to do this.

Thank you to everyone for your support. I will take on this responsibility wisely, and work with everyone to advocate for the transparency and accountability on the use of our CPF.

On 7 June, we will be organising an event to demand to the Singapore government to #ReturnOurCPF. Read our demands below. Please do attend as we will discuss more about the CPF.

We have also set up a petition that you can sign here.

We look forward to seeing you on 7 June. The Facebook event page can be found here.

Just a word of advice roy. I dont know how singapore’s irs works but if you’re not registered as a non – profit organization, just be careful with the tax implications on our donations.

    • Ken

      @ nosferatu

That is a good suggestion. But I think the IRS is only interested if it is an income. Is a gift an income? Roy had better do a check.

If 50,000 people show up at HLP on 7 June and each person puts into the donation box $10 the total will $500,000 plus the $80,000 donated making it a grand total of $580,000, a nice war chest. Then Roy should think about flying in Prof Christopher Baldings to be his expert witness.

      • Tan Keat Kee - visit my website

if 50,000 people save $2 every day for 1 month and give to Roy, that’s $3m!! With that money he can safely have enough to pay back LHL, and also buy a place in parliament! Come guys, let’s do this for Roy! Instead of eating at McDonald, eat local food court chicken rice. Then we can have Roy represent us in parliament!! Don’t we all want that? A lunatic like Roy taking advantage of our stupidity? Let’s do this, FOR ROY!

Roy Ngerng is our hero, boldly sacrificing himself so others may gain the true knowledge that was slyly hidden away from us since the start of time! Go, Roy! Roy had the balls to stand up against the government by opposing what they said? Would you do it? I know I would not, but Roy did. Do you guys see how COURAGEOUS Roy is? He at least deserves our support as a community. Come on guys, it’s only a small amount each day! You won’t see me in fast food restaurants anymore from this day onward, for I have made a conscious effort to dedicate part of my hard earned salary this month to the one and only man who has been speaking up for us.

You can make a difference. All we need is 50,000 people. Roy’s donation drive has showed that we are much more than 50,000 people. We managed to raise so much in just 5 days. Think of the amazing things we could in 1 month of dedicated fundraising! We can CHANGE what is wrong in Singapore. The WORLD will come to know what a force Roy and his followers are.

We want our CPF money back. We want to be able to control what we do with our money. We don’t need the GOVT to help us earn 2.5% interest, because I am ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY SURE that I can earn MORE than 2.5% interest if I am allowed to managed my own finances. Down with government cheating, scamming us of our hard earned nest egg. We are clearly not babies, we don’t need a government to plan our retirement funds for us. We can do that ourselves, right? I’m sure all of us here have the necessary capital and skills to earn good money by our own.

If you care about your family, your friends, your country, HELP ROY OUT. He has bravely taken the first step, and now He needs our assistance. Let us show Him that we as a community are behind Him. Brothers and sisters, let us band together in this time of trouble and show our Solidarity. The govt can bring Roy down, but he cannot bring 50,000 likeminded supporters down together! LHL cannot sue each and every one of us! This is the only road for progress in Singapore! Let us prove to Roy that we are a tribe that is worthy of His leadership. Roy has shown the LIGHT for all us misguided sheep, and now that we are finally Enlightened, let us burst forth and create a new world from the ashes of Singapore’s dastardly political, judicial and social systems!

ROY, WE WILL ALWAYS SUPPORT YOU. DON’T GIVE UP. MORE $$ IS COMING YOUR WAY, USE IT TO DEFEND YOURSELF AND FURTHER OUR CAUSE. TOGETHER, THE LIGHT SHALL BRING VICTORY TO US ALL.

      • Roy Nerng's defense against the dark arts army

Rise my fellow brethren. It is time we the vulgar and ignorant people donate money to our prophet. The auntie selling tissue paper can wait. Approved charity organisations can wait. Everyone else can wait. Roy Nerng needs the money cos if he is bankrupt, he cannot go for future europe escapades.

      • ryu

yeah ken, lets get christopher balding to testify in a non cpf-related court case. I am sure he will be super useful in a case about how roy nerng insinuates that our prime minister is corrupt without any evidence.

      • choofrfreoer

What… there are many other more capable people we can put to challenge the PAP instead of Roy Ngerng.

Look, CSJ may be a bankrupt. But at least he’s educated. He knows what he’s talking about, even if he goes about talking in the wrong way and keeps getting jailed. I can’t agree with his style of protest, but at least he is capable in some way.

I can’t say the same for Roy Ngerng. He doesn’t even make sense in the first place.

      • Bs

        @choofrfreoer
It makes sense to me, maybe just because your capability of reading is limited, probably by the education system?

      • Can't stand retards

        @Bs
Have you seen how stupid his statistical analysis is? On a sidenote, did you pass math?

      • Chris

A rascal back in my secondary did this once:
Borrow 10 cents from everyone. Then no one expects him to pay becos only 10cents.
Although i m not saying wat Roy is doing is the same. But it is a similar concept for crowdfunding….

    • nosferatu

From the iras website “as a guide, a gift not exceeding $200 is considered to be not substantial in value. If the gift exceeds the exemption threshold, the full value is taxable.”

      • Ken

An inheritance is a gift from one’s parents. This can be in millions of dollar. Is it taxable?

      • nosferatu

The beauty if the tax code is the latitude in which it can be interpreted 😉

      • Ken

        @ nosferatu

But the world’s investment community is also watching. If a gift is an income then investors and rich families may flee to safer havens in droves.

      • voka party

if the law can put him to jail that would do much good for the nation., but now he is more suitable in IMH.

  4. eric

Roy’s antics of snapping pictures of him eating only ‘plain rice’ is utterly disgusting. Where is the accountability and transparency Roy Ngerng? who are the.independent auditors? Or do u audit it yourself?

    • roy nerng is my idol

How dare a mere mortal like you question the roy nerng? Don’t you know he is an enlightened being so he is above such mortal restrictions. He answers to no one. All hail the roy nerng; the chosen one who will lead us in the fight against the darkness that seeks to enslaves us.

    • Barking up the wrong tree

      @Eric
Did you donate to Roy? If no, why so busybody?
You should be more worried and demand transparency in places where your money are kept.

      • voka party

donate to someone who doesn’t know CPF but talk like professor of CPF… OMG, wake up lah.

      • choofrfreoer

Just saying, I would have thought that a person really concerned about Singapore and politics would upgrade himself and study economics. Basically, improve oneself to do what one truly dreams.

But looking at Roy Ngerng’s posts, I can’t say that he has done this. It’s frustrating to talk to someone who doesn’t speak logic. How can we even disagree on stand (e.g. liberal/conservative) if there is no fundamental level of knowledge?

As Wolfgang Pauli would say, “It is not even wrong.”

      • eric

What makes you think I did not all anyone need to do is donate 1 cent and demand absolute transparency and obedience from Roy Ngerng. Treat Roy as how Roy demands cpf to be ‘open’. So far all toy did is to publish how much money goes in. What abt out? How he spends the money, how much to pay the lawyer, who his lawyer and so on must be approved by every single person who gives him money.

      • Chris

        Voka party
It is not right to think only pjs or highly knowledgable ppl are allowed to comment abt cpf.
In today’s Internet, u can copy and paste information from various web sites. Also, he may not be the one coming out with all this information. Some one can coach him…
Remember freedom of expression is allowed. But go to the source of the information if u truly want to know the truth.

  5. INVERTED nation

If gifts can be taxed, then it is time we bring back estate duty which is a gift as well.
It would be ridiculous that you try ways and means to tax a poor man but let the rich go tax free but then we are Uniquely Singapore. If you work your butts out and earn $40,000 annually, you are taxed but if you receive $1 million in dividends, it is tax free. And not to mention that our leader said that raising GST is to benefit the poor!
    We are the INVERTED nation.

    • inverted inversion

Yeah how dare we tax a man who has the moolah to fly to europe for research purposes, print tshirts for his countless rallies and visit cafes to try their plain rice.

      • Laurence

Maybe that is why his entire life savings consist of $5000 only. No proper idea on how to manage his own finance. To think this is the guy we trust to analyse CPF and to manage $81000.80.

      • Inverted nation

        @Ermmm
So if pay corporate tax exempt dividends from personal income tax due to duplication, the can you explain why it is ok for multiple taxes when you buy a car?
        1. PARF
        2. Import duty
        3. COE
        4. Road tax
        5. GST
Think about it. Don’t take everything at face value.

    • Chris

      Inverted nation,
Inheritance is not a gift. Ur parents didn’t want to give u but god called them home. So no choice.
Else they will spend everything and leave u nothing.

      • Inverted Nation

        @Chris
You are only partially right. Inheritance can be passed down as a gift using a will.
This means that the parents genuinely want to give the inheritance to specific people.
Of course, there are people who prefers to give everything to charity but it is again a choice.

Instances where you have no choice if you are Singaporean are:-
        1. CPF
        2. CPFLife
        3. MedisaveLife
        4. NS (for males)

      • Chris

I am not partially right. U r just wrong. When ppl make a will, it’s becos he LAN LAN. Easier to use a will to transmit how he want spilt his money. Else there will be asshole who will easier “steal” the money.
If god tell us when we will die, u dun have to worry. U will not recd much inheritance, that u term as “gifts”. Unless ur parents have too much money so cannot spend finish then must give u some la. Or u r underage and cannot take care of urself.
        Dun be silly.
NS also we LAN LAN, we do becos we love Singapore. If u dun love Singapore then migrate Loh.

      • Inverted Nation

        @Chris
I leave it to readers to make their decision on what you wrote. I hope that you are neither a financial advisor or lawyer with such advice.

        Cheers mate.

Roy is our Saviour. He will lead us past the damnation and the heathen to salvation. When the Rapture arrives, the only people who will remain in Singapore are those who believed in Roy and contributed to His cause. Be wary, heathen, for your time on Earth is coming to an end soon. DONATE to Roy or spend all of time’s eternity in PURGATORY, waiting to enter heaven’s gate but to be denied ultimately.

You have been warned. Roy has enlightened us with His baseless accusations and biased statistics. It is your folly if you do not listen to His sagely words and repent now. It is still not to late. Show that you are remorseful with a $1000.00 contribution to Roy’s bank account. $10000.00 or more will earn you an angel’s blessing forevermore, and the top donor himself will be Roy’s Right Hand Man, the Enactor of True Justice. A storm is coming, and be prepared to have your homes wrecked so hard with Roy’s Wrath that you will not even remember what “CPF” stands for before the entire event blows over. You all heathens have one shot to ensure acceptance by Roy, and now is your time to prove your loyalty to His Sageness.

Roy has lifted the wool off your eyes, by showing you the Truth that is the the government’s misdeeds in NOT revealing our CPF monies’ whereabouts, because That in itself is BLASPHEMY! Roy demands that you return all of us our CPF money and immediately hand over the reins of any money-managing organization to none other than Roy himself.

Roy has spoken through this post, and you all would do well to heed His actions and commands. Roy is benevolent, but do not test His patience, HEATHENS.

LONG LIVE ROY. WE WILL SUPPORT YOU NO MATTER WHAT

SHOW THESE IB PAPIES THAT THEY CANNOT JUST BULLY AND THREATEN YOU WITH LAWSUITS. YOU MAY BANKRUPT A MAN, BUT YOU WILL NEVER BANKRUPT AN IDEA

Comrade, You speaketh the truth. May the Good Grace of Roy guide you on your path to Eternal Wisdom. Let us envision a brave new world in which we are led by the providence of His Royal Highness, Roy. We will all praise our guardian Saviour, the King of Kings, Roy Ngerng forevermore, for his teachings on the subjectmatter of the CPF misappropriations is the gospel itself.
Go forth, spread your views widely, and continue to fight for the honour and glory of His Holiness Roy Ngerng. I trust that you will be present on the day Roy’s magnificent, enlightening speech come Saturday thus. I look forward to shaking your hand and exchanging doctrines with you on the subject of Roy’s mission and eminence.

I apologize if I hath disrespected you in any way with my previous preaching, I assure you I only meant to expound on Roy’s Greatness to the best of my ability. Peace to you, my Brother, and may the Holy Spirit of Roy manifest Itself in your soul from now till forevermore.

Brother, i thoroughly agree with your infinite wisdom. Let us spread the gospel of Roy to the ignorant so that they can seek enlightenment. It is our duty to be the warriors of truth and justice in this battle against the vast forces of darkness that is arrayed against us. Fight on my brother! For the glory of His Eminence!

Dearest Brother, What you hath just spoken resonates with the very core of my existence. I would like to point out that it is not me who hath the infinite wisdom, but His Majesty and Excellence Roy whose own knowledge is unbound and transcendent. I trust that you understand this sentiment as well as I do, and I am glad to have found another like-minded friend on whom to rely and trust in times of need and peril. Our work here is nowhere near done, though. We must convince the rest of Singapore, nay, the rest of the world of their folly and convert them to believers in our one and only Saviour, Roy Ngerng. May Roy bless you with his all-seeing eye and all-loving compassion.

      • Aristotle

Romans, brothers, countrymen, LEND ME YOUR EARS! Anyone who the rises to the cause of Roy should hear me out, for I am Aristotle of Rome, born in 384 BCE, the father of logic and socratic reasoning. I may have died long ago but Roy has resurrected me to help in his holy crusade against the ONE true evil of the century, LHL, the 204th reincarnation of Alexander the king of conquerer and the PAP, which in actual fact is a disguise of his sinful army! I beseech you to support Roy Ngerng, the truest of my bloodline in 230 generations. Only HE speakst of logic and reason and only he can spread my teachings to all of you. Amen!

Kick out the opposition who do not eat plain rice at cafes! Vote in Roy who has done all these and more. He even has a blog you know!

      • Laurence

Yes, let us all give three cheers for Roy. Roy the genius who discovered what no oppositions or any ordinary foolish Singapore could discover. Roy the selfless political martyr who has no personal agenda, who never lies or omit the truth, who sacrificed so much for us foolish Singaporeans including his time, his effort, his future Europe trips, his life savings of $5000, his food and so many more unmeasurable things just to free us from evil PAP demon and the useless oppositions.

Roy will lead us to the glory of a new golden era. Where we can earn $6000 a month, own cheap Audi, Ferrari, Mercedes Benz and BMW, cheap houses, free medical benefits, no CPF, no COE, no ERP, low taxes and lots of holidays.

Wow… the PAP IB is on overdrive. I wonder why they don’t start a legal defense fund for PM? (Hint: they are afraid nobody shows up just like their election rally.)

One word of advice for Roy and other at the June 7 event. Given past history, PAP will be there with video camera to record everything you say and to try to find something to sue you further. So stay on topic and not mention names. Talk to Ravi first.

    Good luck to PEOPLE POWER!!!

  9. Peace

Frankly, I’m a bit worried for Roy. He is getting carried away. There’s a serious court case against him and come Saturday her’s going to speak against CPF again. This is a very unwise action and decision at this stage. I think he’s taking for granted that since he has a lot of supporters for donations, he doesn’t really care anymore how aggravated the damages he’s going to cause. His supporters will take care of the funds. The more he talks, the more he’s going to screw up. And I’m (not) surprised that his lawyer, M Ravi hasn’t seemed to have warned him against his pending actions that could potentially cost him more and more for aggravated damages. PM Lee knows what he’s doing. Davinder Singh knows what he’s doing. Roy is only helping to dig his own grave deeper. This is precisely the time he was supposed to be keeping quiet, instead he is acting like a super-hero getting carried away, all smiles and happy that other people are paying for everything so he might as well aggravate the situation. He thinks he is doing Singaporeans a big favor, but at his own detrimental expense.

    • Tan Keat Kee - visit my website

You must surely be disillusioned, Good Sir. It is the PAP and Davinder Singh who should be worried, confronting Roy like that. They have not learnt of Roy’s wisdom or power just yet, but when they do, it will be all too late for them. Roy’s rage will burst from his shell like an exploding grenade, obliterating everything in a blast radius immediately. The very cells that constitute LHL and his crackpot team will cease to exist immediately, and the tattering ruins of a country that will be left behind can only turn to our Saviour, Roy, to lead them through the tough times ahead. It is not too late for you, Sir. All you have to do is donate to Roy’s cause and He will recognise that you have finally believed in Him. There is a special place in Hell reserved for those who hath incurred Roy’s wrath. They are already writing the names on the doors of PAP’s cells down there. Don’t make the same mistake as them. Don’t go down that path. You know that this is the way to your soul’s redemption.

ALL HAIL ROY ALMIGHTY, GUARDIAN OF THE CPF, EXPOSEUR OF THE CORRUPT, KING OF ALL HE SURVEYS

      • The order of Roy Nerng

Sire, would you like to join our newly established order? We are an order dedicated to the conversion of non-believers into true believers of the gospel of Roy Nerng. We have declared war upon the heathen who refuses to believes in the truth.
As you have so aptly describe; ALL HAIL ROY ALMIGHTY, GUARDIAN OF THE CPF, EXPOSEUR OF THE CORRUPT, KING OF ALL HE SURVEYS

      • Aristotle

And I, Aristotle, first of his name, gladly gives my life for this cause, for Roy is my true great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandson after 194 generations. In ROY we trust! Amen!

      • Ding hua

Agree. Foreign trash should not interfere in our local politics. I was from PRC, just got my citizenship.

      • Francis

@Francis Who are you to say what can or cannot be done? You are not God. You are not even a lawmaker. You have no say at all over this matter. Stupid faggot.

    • Ken

      @ John Smith

If you are really John Smith then Mickey Mouse is a flying Dutchman. Why do you care if Singaporeans wish to vote with their wallets? Go away and mind your own biscuit. Cor Blimey.

  14. Teez

Roy, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. You dug your own grave. You asked for this. Here’s to wishing that you’ll learn a painful lesson from this saga.

    • Samuel

On behalf of all of Roy’s supporters, so that they do not need to exert energy to type it out again.

Roy did not defame the PM, it’s just LHL overactive imagination, LHL is making a mountain out of a molehill. LHL just want to create trouble for Roy for exposing the real truth and uncovering the conspiracy that has tricked all ordinary Singaporeans. Whereas Roy is dedicated to exposing the conspiracy, fighting for a better future for Singaporeans and will never ever lie or omit the truth.

We believe in Roy and will support Roy all the way to the bitter end. All other people saying otherwise are just the PAP IB and are paid to try and brainwash us.

      • Ang Hui Yin

        @Samuel

He did not defame the PM? Then what was his accusation that the PM misappropriated CPF money supposed to mean? If somebody suddenly not only runs into you and accuses you that you have raped his sister without any evidence, but also tell the all of his and your friends about you raping his sister, what would you feel about that?

Criticizing that our current CPF scheme is not the best scheme is one thing. In fact, I agree that our CPF system is really poor and a lot can be done to improve the scheme and I support Roy (if you still dont get it, I’m on your side too) in this regard. But accusing the PM that he has misappropriated the $$ without evidence is another thing and I find it utterly disgusting.

      • Samuel

I am just helping Roy’s supporters to save their energy for June 7 rally. According to his highly educated supporters who “can tell the different between outright lies and mere suggestions”, what Roy was suggesting with the charts was there will be risk of corruption if not handled properly since Kong Hee has not been found guilty yet. It’s just our over reactive imagination and being swayed by lies created by the desperate PAP IB that caused us to think that Roy made an insinuation that LHL is corrupted.

Strange isn’t it, they are highly educated enough to tell the difference between outright lies and mere suggestions and yet got deceived by the CPF scheme and PAP for so many years.

      • Ding hua

Your comment makes lots of sense. I have been wrong supporting the PAP. I take back whatever I have said earlier. Sorry Roy.. I have been an idiot to believe PAP. Thanks for your enlightenment Samuel.

      • cleareye

then why he admit & apologize on what he wrote was totally untruth in the first place…

do not confuse others by doing something then say the other…any1 opposed u all.. then u said must be from pap…

can see that your mind are very tiny & narrow…a lots in fact have no much favourtism on pap…
but just u all have screw up the handling & really piss off the group…

those still support & donated must be those low incomer , desperate sort or simply anti-pap
they support n donated becos of anger, dissatisfaction & ignorant towards the ultimate truths

so i urge to return the money to these misguided folks
this just like MLM asking ppl for money without a real worth of attainment

      • cleareye

let me challenge u.. u think what your understanding & against on the cpf can make any changes
as most of the supporters are looking forward to happen…

this are not going to happen anywhere & take the monies to save your ass inorder to work on this mission die die impossible AND u drew a hope & expectation to let the donators think otherwise…

this is a real criminal acts of cheating… & is not a mere suggestions but happening

      • cleareye

hi ding hua dog.. i’m human & not a dog.. i can think clearly, after donate what i get… some interesting words from these clowns to scold pap & make u all feel song song huh? this is = MLM… cheating, take money without real worth of attainment… a criminal act of cheating & u want me to be stupid like u to get cheat by these criminal cheater.. luckily my rational mind still function

      • Ding hua

Hey muddyeye, if you have evidence that this is a criminal act of cheating, the proper procedure is to file a police report. Otherwise you are just a hypocrite trying to defame others without evidence. Initially I was skeptical, now you have cleared all my doubts that you are just a PAP lapdog. Woof woof. 🙂

      • cleareye

        hey ding hua dog…
        1) donation for this loser court case what does it do with cpf issue??
        2) tell me how u all going to deliver your words on getting the cpf changes under your announced way
        3) u all just tikam tikam try try totally without any real confident to touch the issue forget about making it
        4) all the evidences & facts clearly shows the monies donated cant acheive the expectation… so what does that call… like mlm is consider cheat becos achievement will not granted to most

an irrational dog still dare to bark back at me unreasonably.. show u really enjoy to be a dog..

hahaha any1 with a correct sense can pinpoint your problem & malicious act.. but just too bad u’re not gifted that sense

      • Ding hua

Hey muddyeye, if you have proof of any wrong-doing, go file a police report. Don’t hide behind an anonymous nick and shoot like a coward. Barking like a mad dog here will not help your case.

      • cleareye

“Otherwise you are just a hypocrite trying to defame others without evidence”

your words were for roy & not for me… he did exactly what u said but ironically u still licking his feet..

so you are worse than your master that hypocrite… what a spineless contradict hypocrite…

      • cleareye

hey ding hua de gou za cui
“Barking like a mad dog here will not help your case”
hahaha this is refering to the useless way u all barking at hong lim & the net… just look at how your master speech just fix nicely into your words mad dog & true enough for sure will not help the case

why u need to keep mocking at your ownself?? with all the words just appropriately describing u all ownself..

      • Ding hua

Hey muddyeye, you totally lost it. Have to use my words yah? I say you are an anonymous coward shooting from behind. Hmm, apparently you agreed with my assessment. Hey if you have so many “solid” points, why not go file a police report? Of course, unless you are telling people you are making wild accusations that you can never substantiate in court. Tsk tsk..

      • cleareye

hey ding hua de gou za cui
i mean u talking abt yourself & not using your low iq words, dont know who are lost…but can understand a dog brain are with lesser capacity

so your master make a police report when he accused others.. or making wild accusations that have to apologize for what it said & been force to no choice have to beg for donation

u group not only coward shooting from left rigt behind but also despicable cheater

human shall not agreed to a dog assesment & to me yours words just full of contradiction & perplex, nothing beside untruths & lies… so why u so keen to prove yourself is there something guilty hidden… ops did i use your words again hahaha

      • cleareye

gou za cui so let u all taste your own medicine the diff are u’re just dirty flies so i can enjoy do it without any problems but too bad u cant as u did that on a flying dragon

      • Ding hua

Hey muddyeye, it is clear who is the nameless coward. Calling me a dog does not make you any human. I admitted I have been a dog like you mindlessly bashing Roy in the past. But Samuel’s comment had like me see the light. Your refusal to file a police report accusing Roy of cheating has already exposed your weak mind. If I have evidence like you to prove someone is corrupt, I would not hesitate to make a police report. The fact that you are barking like a rabbie dog shows that your points do not stand up in court. By the way you already admitted indirectly that those are wild accusation when you try make a comparison with Roy”s supporters. By the way I am not a Roy supporter, just an ordinary citizen helping whoever is right.

      • Chris

        Samuel
R you delusional? His chart and blogs entry obviously directs to insinuate PM is doing something against the ppl of Singapore.
As for making a mountian out of a molehill, I see Roy and his friends r the ones doing that. Not PM. It is important to prove the pm’s integrity if someone insinuate that pm’s integrity is in question. And to do so in the court of law, will show us it is fair and just.

      • cleareye

gou za cui sound like u dont quite understand the pratical & local way by your stupid words
just found that i’m dui gou dan qin
tell me which part samuel had further confused & blocked your light further

“By the way I am not a Roy supporter, just an ordinary citizen helping whoever is right.”
from your retard beast style dont need to said also know u’re a prc gou zha cui
hope u dont get to angry by my wild guess if happen it is corrrect hahaha
ops need to make a police report for that or not

      • Ding hua

Hey muddyeye, you have totally lost it. Can’t even put up a proper argument and has to resort to name calling. Like I said before, if you have hard evidence, go ahead.and make a police report. Barking loudly here will not win you any support.

      • cleareye

hey Ding hua gou zha cui… look like very free.. a lot of time even in the golden afternoon

a low comphrehension dog which simply confused & lost
look at those words u arguing as though u’re arguing with yourself or your stupid new belief..
obviously supports from brainless idiots is not some1 with integrity will want

      • cleareye

a lowly intelligent like u may not even understand if all u these brainless idiots which allow to be cheat.. nothing much can be done but that doesnt mean this correct, these stupid lost & trapped souls need to be freed, which they can opt out & get back their donation

      • Ding hua

As stated earlier, I am not a Roy supporter and I have never donated to him. Your sour grape loud barking is the only reason why I respond. As a researcher, I spend most of the time surfing the internet. It appears that your jealousy runs very deep not only on Roy’s ability to raise funds for his lawsuit, and also my ability to surf the net while working. You will lead a miserable life if you keep comparing and complaining. Be grateful you have a good government and stop ranting online.

      • cleareye

haha why always i see what u said as something more appropriate for yourself…
cant understand why some1 look down & mock at ownself without self realization

the most miserable in life non other than some1 having a confused & trapped mind
everything they see in fact is the mirror within

      • Ding hua

Hey muddyeye, like your PM, I am bulletproof. No matter what you said has no effect on me. Anonymous coward like you need to have your brain checked. Oh, I mean sponge, probably there isnt any grey matter inside. Hahahaha…

      • cleareye

hey ding hua gou.. “No matter what you said has no effect on me” hahaha 本来无一物何处惹尘埃
is it so??? the more u talk the more lies & dishonest coming out

haha so u’ve resort to name calling in a desperate manner… somemore foolishly calling at your ownself
oh remeber to visit a veterinarian in case u need to have your brain checked…

      • Ding hua

Hey muddyeye,

      • cleareye

hahaHaa did i stressed u alot… poor thing! look like u’re very angry or mad, ya indeed it have no effect on u HahahaHaha

      • Ding hua

Yes, poor muddyeye, cannot reply comments during office hour. 行若狗彘。哈哈!

      • cleareye

hey 听话犬, did samuel also enlightened & open your other eye 屁眼
btw 听 is ting my dear 大陆散家犬

  15. 1kickko

i dare to bet with you all roy supporters he will lose… those who dare to take the bet do offer your stake we come a real $$$ bet how

  16. Aristotle

Amen!

    • Chris

I’m Singaporean and I dun agree with what Roy had said, is saying and will say….
And I give u a benefit of doubt since u were “away” for too long. Just like in the past, now is the same. There r always ppl who only know how to complain and find trouble. And there r the ignorant ppl who believe them.
      U just Rest in peace…

    • Aristotle the 122nd

Aristotle, can it truly be you, my distant ancestor? I am so glad to see that you’re back!

I hope that being dead for 2k+ years hasn’t affected your mind too much. Because… you’re actually from Greece, not Rome, don’t you remember?

Anyway, you and Roy Ngerng have my support! He will lead us into the land of no CPF, low taxes, but bountiful welfare for retired people! I am aware that our ancestral home, Greece, has recently almost collapsed after trying to do that… But that’s only because they did not have Roy’s wisdom to guide them!

  17. Anton Casey

Who got the last laugh. The one who has money in this world. You stinky poor Roy and your supporters who spent so much effort to fight for a few dollars from your CPF while in this world there were many people like me who already made millions during this time. And these money are made imdirectly from people like you. Losers.

    • Ken

      @ Anton Casey

Did you just get back from Perth? Did you get your banker’s job back? Why so obiang? Cor blimey.

  18. Reductio ad absurdum

Would you trust an anti-Singaporean political party to keep your money for you?
An argument brought to its logical end – the state of absurdity.

    • Ding hua

You are right. I was foolish to believe that PAP is pro-Singaporean. After reading Samuel’s comment above, I know I have erred. I seek forgiveness from you people.

      • cleareye

dont bullshit… if some1 easily change their perspective.. & such support is not worth a cents.. & do answer – what make u think PAP is not pro-Singaporean now after u’ve brainwashed…. u’re just a fake which pretend like u have see something…

      • Ding hua

Hey muddyeyes, hounding me like a mad dog? No wonder someone said there are more dogs than humans in Singapore. I guess you are the one he is referring to. Bite and don’t let go.

      • cleareye

hey ding hua dog.. hahaha i dont blame u… inside a dog eye any1 look like them..
in fact i sympathize a poor soul like u… oh bite & hold?? u yourself? gou yao lv dong bin hahaha

      • Ding hua

Oh, muddyeye, everything you wrote actually applicable to your own self. You must be the three eye dog erlangquan. Hahahaa…

      • cleareye

hahaha look like u’ve no more juice & contents in your limited brain..
        obviously u’re weaken & in a inferior manner now..hahaHaaa

      • Ding hua

        @muddyeye, 你这乳臭未干的小杂种真以为有奖品拿?简直幼稚透了。哈哈!

      • cleareye

tks for coming back to prove my words.. how nice you are… hahaHa “always look on the bright side of life hu hu huhuhuhu!” HahahahaHa

  19. Inverted Nation

    @Chris

    • Chris

Well, they really dun have a choice. If u want to term a gift because it’s in the will. Then u r free to think so. But wat is in a person’s will, is a inheritance. To me, inheritance is not a gift.
I’ve said this many times, every decent country will have compulsory funds much like our cpf. To provide for social nets when u grow old. Unless u belong in another world or u live in a war torn country, u will have no choice.
NS is compulsory, I dun like it, I dun agree why only males, why must be 2 years? But it is for the good of our country, unless u dun love Singapore then go to hong lim to protest Loh. But since u dun love Singapore, then why stay?

    • Inverted nation

      @Chris
      This sounds like a loser.
Why don’t you show me a Singapore link that says inheritance is not a gift then.

      • Inverted Nation

You started it. Don’t try to weasle your way out.
The argument is whether inheritance is a gift or not and not whether it is taxable or not.
Answer to the point or concede defeat.
        Lagi Bodoh!

  20. Focus

Disregard the distractions that is coming your way and stay focus. By that, I mean when you make your speech in HLP, be mindful that this is an important speech that can steer the course of things. Focus on why the present CPF is bad, what does it mean to subscribe to it as a family person (2 working individuals (both graduates buying 4-room flats) and the case for non-graduates (with diploma holders in mind – many diploma holders are unhappy with the present CPF arrangements that will make them asset rich (but’s it’s 99 year rental, really) and arrive at their pensions cash poor, that the CPF needs to be reform as it’s untenable and would leave many Singaporeans struggling in their old age), the social injustice on Ah ma and Ah Pa collecting cardboards and selling tissue papers to survive in their old age, the lack of respect for the elderly condition and Singaporeans do not want to see such harsh realities inflicting our elderly Singaporeans. Why your message has been powerful thus far? It’s because you combine facts with an ethical position. That’s why thousands of Singaporeans are behind you and hundreds of thousands will follow through. It has too long since someone takes an ethical position with facts. Don’t lose sleep over the matter. Thousands of singaporeans will gladly pay for the damages as it’s a joke when the PM decides to donate the damages back to us when we’d just given them to you. Not so constructive a politic. Every time Hsien Loong takes an ethical position, it’s the opposite that he makes with his actions. And many Singaporeans can see through that hypocrisy. Our PM has lost the moral license to tell singaporeans things and it went down the drain a long time ago with the illegal detainees, the 2 casinos, the malay dilemma and the recent undoing of the Singaporean core in the White Paper.

    • Chris

      Focus
Again, why only focus on the bad? Is there nothing good?
Why only give ppl a one sided impression?
So easy to blame… Tsk tsk…
Easy to blame, not easy to balance the problems and make sure Singapore will prosper beyond our generations.
Seems to me, u guys want to suck Singapore dry and leave nothing for ur children’s children and even their children forever after.
      SELFISH BEINGS….

  21. Norman Wee

Now that the dust has somewhat settled while waiting for the court hearing, allow me to put in a few cents worth.

In my earlier comment, by comparing their ages when starting out and their guts, I concluded that Roy is LKY in the making.

When the CPF issue as presented by Roy went virul, comparisons were made on citizens’ funds as in other countries. Comments were heard that Malaysian EPF paid much more dividends (higher interest rates) than Singapore’s CPF. But does that mean that Malaysian EPF members are better off than Singapore’s.

Now let”s open up the followiing the realities:

    1. Most CPF members are home owners. Can the same be said about EPF members.

    2. All CPF members enjoy quality health cares at all government hospitals. A big proportion of EPF members who are Chinese Malaysians just don’t trust going to government hospitals and prefer private ones to the extent of fast depleting their “coffin capital”. No wonder private health care in Malaysia is blooming.

    3. In Indonesia and other Asean countries a worker may have worked all his life but there is not a single cent in any fund to talk about because there is none.

    4. In European countries their once generous welfare supports have now bankrupted many of them who have to implement tough austerity measures just to stay afloat. In the 80s I used to see many of them hippies traveling round the world and get paid for not working under their unemployment benefits!

    Now other realities:

    1. Malaysian fruits cost less here than in Malaysia. So if we see any Singaporean carrying back heavy loads of Malaysian fruits, then he must be an idiot. (An egg costs as much in Malaysia as in Singapore. Their bus fare starts at RM1, about the same as in Singapore. But what kind of salary the Malaysians are getting?)

    2. Just hang around Sheng Siong Woodlands and we will see Malaysians from JB coming over to buy seafood, which I am sure some are from Malaysian fishermen. (Singapore’s fish balls are world renown, compliment to the Senior Lee who pulled in Russian fishermen who chucked away fish entrails into the ocean while sailing to Singapore to deliver all pure fish meat.)

    3. Many Malaysians working in Singapore as low status security guards own landed properties and luxurious condos in JB. If the rules on another low status cleaners job are relaxed then I think there could be a “River Kwai March” over the causeway.

Roy, don’t forget that PAP is very much proactive and efficient in governing. What was once an issue its no more now. Public housing for instance. Mr Lee Hsien Loong admitted the shortcoming and Mr Khaw with his magic wand turned it into a non-issue. I am sure the foreigners issue would become non-issue in next to no time.

CPF to many Singaporeans is now an issue. But just believe me it won’t be once the government put on their thinking hats.

Roy, you must move on and if an issue becomes non-issue, research and explore new ones with fellow Singaporeans’ inputs. This is the only way to be relevant and be the LKY in the making.

    • Ken

      @ Norman Wee

What are you smoking? Let me respond to you point by point below :

      1. You said “Most CPF members are home owners.”

What is the point if most have to sell them and downgrade to a one bedroom flat to survive on retirement?

      2. “All CPF members enjoy quality health cares at all government hospitals.”

This is not free. In fact in Class A wards it is very expensive. A Stent costs about $80,000.

      3. “In Indonesia and other Asean countries a worker may have worked all his life but there is not a single cent in any fund to talk about because there is none.”

Don’t compare a First World economy to a Third World economy. SG has the highest per capita reserves in the whole Galaxy. Norway and Canad have free health care, why can’t SG?

      4. “In European countries their once generous welfare supports have now bankrupted ..”

No one is advocating a welfare state for SG. Get real.

      Now Your other realities:

      1. Malaysian fruits cost less here than in Malaysia.

      A D24 durian costs Sing $8 (RM20.50) in SG. I can get D24 in JB for RM12 a kg.

      2. Just hang around Sheng Siong Woodlands and we will see Malaysians from JB coming over to buy seafood,

This could be because there is no wet market for fresh seafood in JB. Many of their fisheries land their catch in Sembawang wharf to get higher prices.

      3. Many Malaysians working in Singapore as low status security guards own landed properties and luxurious condos in JB.

This contradicts your argument that Singaporeans are more well-off than Malaysians when a landed property in SG costs S$2.5 million (RM 6.4 million) onwards (beyond the reach of 90% of the population) when as you say “low status security guards own landed properties and luxurious condos in JB.”

And not to forget a 1.6L car costs about S$140,000 (RM 358.400) in SG, an amount which can buy 6 cars in Malaysia or 1 car and a house. Enough said.

      • Norman Wee

Thanks Ken for your “point by point” counter arguments. Of course yours is not the gospel true, nor is mine. But lets see who is nearer.
        1. Just because some downgraded, you conveniently conclude that its because they did so just to survive retirement. Of course I can ask you what evidence or statistics you have for this. But there are many other reasons for downgrading:
…too big as children married and move out.
..too big to take care or clean up.
…want to enjoy life with the extra cash in hand than leaving their apartment to others when they konk out.

However simply arithmatic will show that if its because of financial reasons then they can easily let out the extra rooms and getting enough month rental to survive.
There are many part-time jobs begging for labour. I mention positions of security guards and cleaners in which Malaysians are harvesting bounties. (I am waiting for someone to say such jobs too…But if its about stamina and energy with regard to such and many other jobs, then please see my website which targets a quality lifespan of 120 years!).
        2. I am talking about general health care which most Singaporean seek. Remember that the government has promised that no one who need hospital care would be turn away. As Chinese Malaysians don’t trust government hospitals there have been cases of medically sick persons being turned away by Malaysian private hospitals if no adequate deposits are made.
You talk of premium health care, which is irrelevant in this issue. In Singapore any thing premium is expensive. So too for the D24 durian which I will retort as we move down.
(more to come, as my wife holler me for lunch outside.)

      • Samuel

Sure Singapore can have free health care once you can find us oil and gas deposit in Singapore to sell to other countries.

Even Australia with its natural resources does not provide free health care. The citizens have to pay money annually to get some health care benefits. If they choose to go to a private GP, the benefits will only cover a portion of the bill and the patient will have to pay the rest in cash. But even this method is not beneficial for the budget so now the Australian government says that every patient have to make a co-payment of $7 for every GP visit irregardless of whether the Medicare benefit will fully cover the GP cost.

Furthermore, this method of paying a sum annually for medical benefits has its cons as this can lead to unnecessary doctor visits just to make sure that they get their money worth. This is what is happening in Taiwan now as well.

Unless you can come out with a solution that provides free medical benefits to all Singaporeans without anyone abusing the system and ensure that Singapore budget can cover it and still have a surplus (remember the budget for free medical benefits will only increase as time pass due to the aging population), I am all for it.

      • Ken

        @ Samuel,

Why is that though Singapore has no oil or gas deposits and yet it has a higher foreign reserves that Australia or Canada? Why is that Singapore has the highest per capita reserves in the whole world?

And is that we pay the most for our retirement and get the least in the development world?

      • Ken

        @ Samuel

“Unless you can come out with a solution that provides free medical benefits to all Singaporeans without anyone abusing the system and ensure that Singapore budget can cover it and still have a surplus (remember the budget for free medical benefits will only increase as time pass due to the aging population), I am all for it.”

Did you notice that Singapore has been blessed with a budget surplus almost every year in the last decade, while the US has been incurring a $1 trillion budget deficit a year in the same period? Why not use that surplus to part fund the health care for all Singaporeans?

Also in the last 24 years the Govt has collected over $50 billion for COE, Parf and car taxes. Why can’t that be used to part fund the health care for all Singaporeans?

      • Norman Wee

        Norman is back…
Whether 1st class or 3rd class the treatment is the same except that the 1st class guy gets to be served by more beautiful and duty-conscious nurses. of course the ambiance is 1st class. Try to be rakyat jelata (the poor) in neighbouring countries and see what kind of medical treatment would be given. The proof of the pudding is in its eating and eloquently put by @Samual)

Taking of free medical, I have heard of 2 stories.
One is from the senior Lee who said that he was prescribed a free spectacle during his student days in UK and whenever he wore it there would blister on his nose bridge and he would suffered headache. Before long it found it way into the garbage bin wasting British tax-payers’ money under the British free medical system.
The second one is from an elderly Briton who complained his free denture was like hell in his mouth. So when he struck a lottery, reporters asked him what he would do first with the money.
        Answer: denture.

        3. The CPF was already there even when Singapore was 3rd world class during our grandfathers and grandmothers’ time. But your retort misses my contention which is that Singaporeans have something to fall back on even with falling value which is well taken care of by increasing value of their HDB flats. This has been denied to many poor farmers in neighbouring countries. We must put things in their right perspective.
        4. Are you trying to suggest that only welfarism would bankrupt a nation? Please research and read more.
        Other realities:
        1. We are talking of common fruits the majority of Singaporeans eat. Please compare prices of duku, duku langsat, rambutan, banana, papaya and even other durian. A piece of papaya at Singapore hawker centres is 50 cents, RM1 sold by Malay hawkers in JB and RM1.50 to RM2 sold by chinese hawkers in JB.
As I have said anything with a premium is expensive in Singapore (such as 1st class this or that, fine dining, D24 etc. By the way my wife told me D24 has been downgraded to be replaced by Mou San King, janga main main. But God, like government policies, is far…so when it comes out the other end, it smells the same, premium or no premium)
        2. You seem to be groping for an answer for this which I think is just an effort to fill the quota of “point by point”. Please do more research on this as the wet markets there are very wet.
        3. Never have I implied or said that Singaporeans are well-off than their Malaysian counterparts. This is because the status of wealth is subjective based on many factors. What I imply is that Singaporeans are comfortable suffering not from hunger or other deprivation. All have roofs over their heads unless…
Of course it can do better but definitely not to allow everyone to buy cheap cars. With limited space, overpopulation of cars would only render the cars like a paper one used in funeral rites unable to go anywhere.
One more point, in issue like this, there is no such thing as “enough said”.
        Thank you.

      • Ken

        @ Norman Wee

        1 “Norman is back…”

With or without your better half’s permission?

2 ” Try to be rakyat jelata (the poor) in neighbouring countries and see what kind of medical treatment would be given.”

Try and go out more often. Ever heard of medical tourism? Malaysia is a great destination. Why ? Because says the Expats “Medical services in Malaysia are of an extremely high standard. In major cities, there are English-speaking doctors who have trained in the United States of America and the United Kingdom.”
        See link :

        http://www.expatfocus.com/expatriate-malaysia-healthcare-medical?gclid=CMKWy7-M4L4CFUsqjgodUpwAvQ

And in case you are not aware the Sultan of Johor and billionaire Peter Lim, owner of Thompson Medical centre, are building a high-tech RM3 billion medical centre in Tanjong Puteri (across the causeway) that will attract a lot of Singaporeans when it is completed.

3 Taking of free medical, I have heard of 2 stories.

        Anecdotes are biased.

        4. “The CPF was already there even when Singapore was 3rd world class during our grandfathers and grandmothers’ time. ”

But can you take your CPF out after it is decimated by inflation? In the last 3 years the average inflation was 4.1% but the rate in the OA was only 2.5%. If you had $100,000 in 2011, today its purchasing power had dropped to $95,000.

5 “But your retort misses my contention which is that Singaporeans have something to fall back on even with falling value which is well taken care of by increasing value of their HDB flats.”

What is the point when his cash is gone and he has to downgrade to a 1 br flat to survive? Where is the Swiss standard of living?

6 “This has been denied to many poor farmers in neighbouring countries. We must put things in their right perspective.”

Yes, put things in perspective yourself. Never compare with many poor farmers in neighbouring countries. Compare SG to a developed nation like Norway and you will see that even a Janitor gets S$5,000 a month in salary and in OZ a McD worker gets S$4,000 a month. In SG they are lucky to get S$1,000 a month.

        7. “Are you trying to suggest that only welfarism would bankrupt a nation? Please research and read more.”

The EU and in particular the PIIGS nations are all going broke because of unbridled welfarism. Get the drift? The other sure way to go broke is to live beyond our means. We are not as we have a budget a surplus. Get it?

        Your Other *alleged* realities:

        1. “We are talking of common fruits the majority of Singaporeans eat. Please compare prices of duku, duku langsat, rambutan, banana, papaya and even other durian. A piece of papaya at Singapore hawker centres is 50 cents, RM1 sold by Malay hawkers in JB and RM1.50 to RM2 sold by chinese hawkers in JB.”

However you try to slice the enchilada, fruits come from Malaysia and they are cheaper there. S$0.50 = RM1.30. I can buy a whole papaya for RM2.60 each in Malaysia. In SG you can buy only 2 pieces.

2 “As I have said anything with a premium is expensive in Singapore (such as 1st class this or that, fine dining, D24 etc. ”

Use logic. Why would fruits be less epensive in SG if they come from Malaysia with transport and handling charges and middlemen’s profits added in?

        3. “You seem to be groping for an answer for this which I think is just an effort to fill the quota of “point by point”. Please do more research on this as the wet markets there are very wet.”

Have you been to the Sembawang wharf at 2 am in the morning to buy fresh fish? I have.

        4. “Never have I implied or said that Singaporeans are well-off than their Malaysian counterparts. ”

Then your argument that everything is hunkydory in SG has no merit. We have the HIGHEST per capita RESERVES in the whole world and yet 28% of Singapreans are poor and 50% cannot meet the MS. Why?

5 “Of course it can do better but definitely not to allow everyone to buy cheap cars. With limited space, overpopulation of cars would only render the cars like a paper one used in funeral rites unable to go anywhere.”

Hey the COE takes care of rising car population but unlike in Beijing where it is balloted free of charge here it is auctioned and used to cost S$90,000 for a large capacity car or RM230,400 JUST for the COE. You can buy a house for that amount in Malaysia.

6 “One more point, in issue like this, there is no such thing as “enough said”.

That is the eupherism for “why so silly”?

    • Norman Wee

One more thing. If you do succeed, please don’t behave like some African leaders who sexually whacked their bodyguards’ backside and the muscular bodyguards screamed but “no sound come out”.

      • Norman Wee

        @Ken 8:03pm 4/6/14
Sorry Ken, for not responding earlier. You see last night I was at CC in Yishun showing those too tired to exercise after a day’s work, the elderly and the wheelchair-bound, how to do WEIROBICS, a new “no pain all gain” exercise. One more thing this sat I will be at Hong Lim and hope to shake your hand.

Now back to the issue on hand.
You seem to adopt guerilla tactics in your counter-arguments throwing catchwords or Roy’s cliches and scrammed without elaborating. Without elaboration on a point of argument, netizens are deprived of analysing our thought process and logic to decide if they want to engage further. Honestly such tactics when used in Parliament, at the end of the day we may not know what hit our behind because there are reporters, editors, correspondents, embassy officials and of course PAP MPs watching with hawkeyes.
Your “point by point” rebuff of my “realities”
        2. In this reality I mention:
        a. government promises no one would be turned away from government hospital
        b. medical treatment for 1st or 3rd class the same, so most Singaporeans are benefiting
        c. rakyat jelata in Malaysia not getting quality medical treatment in Malaysian government hospitals of which most Chinese Malaysians shied away.
You picked only (c) and rattled away irrelevant info about medical tourism and Johor Sultan and Peter Lim to to build a booming private hospital system. Now my question is “How the rakyat jelata going to benefit from this?”. What if Singapore government announced plans to build such mammoth project for foreigners, how will be your reaction.
        3. You retorted this reality with one word “bias”. These so called anecdotes are also gleamed from newspapers reports which you have meticulously and proudly made references to for all to see. How shall I label them?
        4. If that is the situation in terms of purchasing power as opposed to numerals, didn’t I say that the higher values of HDB flats would offset that? Many people in neighbouring countries have nothing to offset except their 2 bare hands.
        5. If increasing values of HDB flats is not real cash, what is? Is there anyone out there who lost money transacting their HDB flats? Private condo maybe.
As for the reasons for downgrading, I have listed a few earlier. And if its because of surviving retirement, there are other solutions. Maybe statistics would tell a better story, instead of conjectures by me and Ken.
        6. In this I was talking about things to fall back on and you rattled on about Europeans being paid more in terms of numerals and not in terms of purchasing powers.
        7. Now maybe “return our CPF” will. Remember we are an Asian country where financial prudence is a virtue.
        Other realities
        1. You made a wrong comparison here by comparing a cut papaya with an uncut papaya. If you like to know papaya is sold by weight. So please tell us what weight for a RM2.60 uncut papaya. And maybe I will attach a photo of who much uncut is sold in singapore by weight.
        2. By using logic, you concluded that it is impossible that a big proportion of Malaysian fruits are about the same prices here and there. Compliments to the government for introducing the doctrine of “competition” which is serving the majority of Singaporeans well.
3 Please enlighten me what has “going to Sembawang at 2am” relevant to this reality?
        4. Again Asian prudence in money management is a virtue passed down from generation to generation.
        5. Are you implying we must follow other countries? Anti-smoking was started by Singapore more than 20 years ago and only now other countries especially US and Europe are initiating.
        6. Is that how you interpret “enough said” which is from your own mouth?
        Thank you.
(next to come: Human behaviors are predictable based on countless research, studies and observations.

      • Ken

        @ Norman Wee

1 “One more thing this sat I will be at Hong Lim and hope to shake your hand.”
Will you be wearing a pink shirt and a pair of Mickey Mouse sunglasses?
        2. “In this reality I mention:”
        a. “government promises no one would be turned away from government hospital”
Are you implying health care in Govt hospital is gratis?
        b. “medical treatment for 1st or 3rd class the same, so most Singaporeans are benefiting”
Oh yeah? How is that a stent for a woman cost $18,000? See Forum Letter 31 May.
c.” rakyat jelata in Malaysia not getting quality medical treatment in Malaysian government hospitals of which most Chinese Malaysians shied away.”
Where is your source? Talk is cheap.
3.”How the rakyat jelata going to benefit from this?”
Leave it to the Sultan of Johor. He knows better what to do for his people than you.
4 “What if Singapore government announced plans to build such mammoth project for foreigners, how will be your reaction.”
Good. Our balance of trade will spike and more competition will bring prices down for the rakyat of Singapore.
        5. “These so called anecdotes are also gleamed from newspapers reports which you have meticulously and proudly made references to for all to see. How shall I label them?”
        Biased.
        6. ” didn’t I say that the higher values of HDB flats would offset that? ”
What if there is a housing crisis like in America in 2008? Will the house price drop or rise?
7 “If increasing values of HDB flats is not real cash, what is?”
What is the point if after selling they have to live in a 1br flat?
8 “In this I was talking about things to fall back on and you rattled on about Europeans being paid more in terms of numerals and not in terms of purchasing powers.”
If the average inflation in the last three years was 4.1% and the OA gets 2.5% what will that do to the purchasing power of the retirement funds if that absurdity continues ad nauseaum?
9 “Remember we are an Asian country where financial prudence is a virtue.”
But does it mean that our retirement funds get decimated by inflation?
        Other *alleged* realities
1 “So please tell us what weight for a RM2.60 uncut papaya.”
I buy whole papayas all the time and the same size papaya in JB costs less than in SG. Yawn.
        2. “By using logic, you concluded that it is impossible that a big proportion of Malaysian fruits are about the same prices here and there.”
A 2 kg durian (D24) costs $16 or RM41 in SG. For RM41 I can get two D24 in JB. This is a fact.
3 Compliments to the government for introducing the doctrine of “competition” which is serving the majority of Singaporeans well.”
How about introducing the doctrine of competition to the CPFB to invest our money elsewhere (Like Temasek and GIC) and not only in SSGS? On a longer term TH and GC are profitable. Not much risk.
4 “Please enlighten me what has “going to Sembawang at 2am” relevant to this reality?”
Fresh seafoods, which many Malaysians also come across the causeway to buy as you said.
5 “Again Asian prudence in money management is a virtue passed down from generation to generation.”
Then how come the Philippines, Cambodia, Laos, Bangaldesh and Myanmar are not doing so well?
        6. “Are you implying we must follow other countries?”
If it is good for Singapore why not? MNCs created jobs in Korea, Japan and Taiwan in the 60s. When the British vacated the Sembawang shipyard and created a huge unemloyment guess what? We brought in the MNCs too by following other countries. Why is that so bad?
7 ” Is that how you interpret “enough said” which is from your own mouth?”
Yes, because you are so silly, IMHO of course.
8 “(next to come: Human behaviors are predictable based on countless research, studies and observations”
        Who cares?

      • Ken

        @ Norman Wee

Talk is cheap only when folks make claims without any merit. Good night and sweet dreams. Bye.

    • Ding hua

Indeed. The PAP government has been very kind to new immigrant like myself. I just got my citizenship and bought a HDB flat. As a first generation migrant, I do not have to serve NS unlike many loser male citizens. My plan is to work here for another 5 years, bring my parents and grandma from da lu. Then sell off my flat which would double in value by then, cash out my CPF and migrate to Canada. I heard Singapore citizen easier to get PR in Canada. The weather is also much better there. Here is like a rat race. Don’t think Singapore will survive another 50 years. I know many people will hate me for saying this. Your government has been good to me and I will continue to vote PAP so that more of my tong zhi can come here settle. We have al ready hit 1 million. It is only right for us to celebrate our national day here in 1st October. Mao Zhu Xi Wan Shui!

      • SG Indian

You’re not from China. Your English is too good to be a PRC. Even the most educated PhD holders from China don’t write good English. You’re a coward hiding behind PRC identity to support PAP.

      • Ding hua

      • Chris

        Well ding hua,
Whether u r from sg or from china or wherever. What u have said is very natural if u r a new citizen even some Singaporeans too.
Unfortunately sg is not the best place to live. But it is what it is becos in the first place, we may not even come into existence if not for our founding father and his merry band of old guards.
Due to the efficient govt in creating an environment so conducive that some idiots term it as artificial. So making statements like “the govt is too intrusive and will even meddle with our life and our money…” But if sg govt dun help, then they will say govt not willing to help. This is human nature. However, i believe the majority of Singaporeans and new citizens do not think like u.
I hope u will not leave sg becos sg had given u so much. But no one can stop u if u want to leave.
So I can only say be fair when u speak. And leave quietly when u do migrate.

      • Ding hua

Hey Chris, I have benefitted from the fully paid scholarships and a guaranteed job as a researcher, I know what is ying shui si yuan. I don’t mind if people call me a dog. I will vote PAP when election comes. Singapore needs more talent from mainland as Singaporeans are a pampered lot. You know, for $3000 per month, I am already very rich when I exchange your currency to renminbi. I really cannot understand why people keep complaining. Other than HDB here, I have invested in a condo at Tianjin ecocity, another quality project by the PAP.

China has 1.3 billion people and you can claim that no one there can write good English? What brand of toddy are you drinking? Read today’s Straits Times and you will see that its senior writer Ching Cheong, who was from China, writes flawless English. Don’t make stupid claims.

Apparently it is not in the UK and the USA. Bush lied all the time, even to invade Iraq. Chuck Hagel? He is even worse.

  22. court

Court has just passed this before the hearing. Roy is now banned from using the internet and this includes in mobile devices whether directly or indirectly until the verdict has been passed.

    • greg

Once again from my viewpoint tas someone from the USA, if this news is accurate, it seems like a very wrong decision for the courts to make. Silencing people is very much against our traditions here. How is a the possible abuse of the ability to do this to someone ballanced in Singapore. In the USA it is under control because it is almost impossible to bring a liable suit.

  23. greg

This is Greg again (Usual disclaimer, I’m from the USA, have never been to Singapore, do not really understand the issue, but I’ve been reading this whole thing learning a lot about your political culture and comparing it to my own. I have not donated, I think this is a question for the good people of Singapore to deal with, and not an outside like me. So please don’t think of anything I say as criticism, judgment or anything else beyond my learning. I thank those who have posted the thoughtful reply to my post.)

I’ve been thinking about the Singapore image of (and from what I can tell reality of) a much stronger “rule of law” than is here in the USA. Not that we don’t have a strong rule of law, but we have rules, and laws that let our citizens decide that some laws are just not right. The assumption of libel here is as follows. 1. You have to prove that there are monetary damages by the libel, and more so you have to prove that the person knew that he was lying at the time he/she said what she said. This is to prevent the control by politicians of the press by threats of law suits. (I figure there is another method of protection against this kind of abuse in Singapore as there are more than one way to deal with any problem, but I have not had anyone explain what it is over in Singapore.)

Now to my thoughts, and I’d love some feedback, especially from anyone who’s lived both in the USA and in Singapore.

The more I read the more I think the differences between the direction of our tradition of laws is population density. I am in Florida. The county I am in is three times the size of your country, with a population that is less than 8% of yours. You don’t need to be polite, when you can avoid people, avoid ideas, avoid differences. I’m not sure this is a luxury. It may have lead the the factionalization of my country, and the creation of a tradition of this in the USA. I think you need to be respectful, and rule following the closer you live to each other. In the USA we have a saying that good fences make good neighbors.

I grew up in a large city in the USA, although I clearly don’t live there now. While not nearly the density of Singapore’s population, it’s reflects more of what I see here in these posts.

It also seems to explain, at least to me the political division in the USA. We talk about Red and Blue states here (conservative, and Liberal) but the division is not really by our states, it’s really a divide between urban and rural. States with a more urban population seem to be more Liberal, and that means supporting a stronger government.

That but ing said, Google something we have in the USA called the ACLU. from the looks of this case and others from my outsiders point of view, you may want to look a if a Singapore version of this organization would help the rights of your citizens. I’m sure you can Google for more Information.

    • George Orwell's 1984 Lives

      Hi Greg.
Your American ACLU is a proper non-governmental organization (NGO).

In Singapore, there is some suspicions that our NGOs are mostly GONGO
      – Government organized NGO (GONGO)
      – Where the people heading the NGO has political party affiliations.

If I’m not wrong, the head of Singapore’s umbrella labour union is a Lim Swee Say
      – Lim Swee Say is also a cabinet Minister of the ruling political party

    • SG Indian

Hey you Ang-Mo, SG PM has the right to run the country how he wants and if citizens are not happy, one can always vote him out – something which hasn’t been done successfully so far. Unlike SG, USA is nowhere tops as a least corrupted nation. In fact, SG used to be the least corrupted nation in the world. Defamers deserve to be silenced if SG doesn’t want to end up like the USA.

      • Ding hua

Are you sure you are Indian? I have never tried Indian. We mainland people hate curry. Zhong kou wei. I hope you can understand what I said.

      • Ding hua

If I ask you to eat chou dou fu or smelly beancurd, would you try? How about some dog meat?

      • Greg

Far be it for me to say there is no corruption in the USA. But we face the fact that this exists and have laws and limitations on those in power to help prevent abuse. Our way should not be your way. Your culture and needs are different. I am learning how different it is just because of population density. My question remains: if someone rich and or powerful wanted to use your libel laws as a weapon to either destroy or quiet another, what ways are there to protect from abuse. I’ve listed in other posts how things work in the USA. I can only assume you have protections in your laws, I also assume they ate different from what we have in the USA. Not better or worse, just different as your cultures values and needs ate different. Ease help me learn.

  24. Singapore's Minsky Moment

I wonder if LHL vs Roy Ngerng over the CPF is Singapore’s Minsky Moment?

    Minsky moment
    – An Emperor’s New Clothes event, where all of a sudden we come to our senses and realize that the Emperor is naked, PAP may not be on the side of Singaporeans, and LKY was wrong.

    • Chris

      Correction!
It is a case of slander by Roy on PM.
      It is not abt cpf.
If u cannot even get that right, that explain why Roy can hoodwink u ppl so easily.
      Idiots!

      • SG Indian

I agree. PM Lee does not have to prove anything else in court except that he did not misappropriated CPF funds.

      • SG Indian

All PM Lee has to prove is that no CPF money of Singaporeans was used for his personal gain or by his family. Period.

      • Laurence

For the last time, Roy himself has already stated clearly on his blog. “The case will now essentially focus on a hearing involving assessment of damages since I have already apologised”

It is not a court case about CPF but about how much damages to pay to LHL. That is what the donations are for, to determine the amount of damages to pay to LHL and not to expose the truth of CPF.

      • Chris

        Laurence,
U ppl really dun understand what this case is all about.
Really simplistic thinking. But nvm lah, u guys r not involved in this case anyway. Just donate only and then watch show, right?
        Roy,
Ur fans can be naive, I hope u r not. In the courts, the focus will be “did u slander PM”, if no, all hell breaks loose on PM. If yes, all hell breaks loose on u… Since u like to simplify things so much, this is simple for u and ur fans to understand, right?
        Idiots!

      • Inverted Nation

        @Chris
Has Roy been found guilty already?
Let me tell you a story. Last night, I dream that my neighbor’s house caught fire. Their whole house was engulf in flame. The fire was so big that the fire brigade could not put up the fire so they called for a rescue helicopter to come and air lift my neighbor out. When the helicopter arrived, the rescuer recognized that my neighbor is his father’s arch enemy. He refused to lower the ladder but instead shouted for my neighbor to admit that he cheated his father previously and ask him to promise to compensate for the losses.

As time was of the essence, my neighbor admitted that he had cheated and agreed to make compensation but the rescuer said that he was not sincere and ask him to strip naked. My neighbor had no choice but to do as was told. In the meantime, the fire brigade manage to put out the fire and my neighbor was able to be rescued by firemen on the ground.
I woke up and realize that it was just a nightmare.

So is my neighbor a cheat?
Do you like the helicopter rescuer?
Should my neighbor keep his words that he will compensate the rescuer from the helicopter?
Should the whole case be reviewed or just the part on the compensation be reviewed?

      • Chris

        Inverted nation
Again, u proofed that ppl like u dun read properly, dun think…
I mentioned both PM and Roy have an equal chance to be guilty. But of cos, on different matters. Once either party is found guilty, all hell will be set loose on whoever he is.
I presume u have already “sentenced” Roy in ur heart. That’s why u didn’t read. Or u presumed that ppl r either for or against Roy. I do not like Roy but I dun “sentence” him like u.
However, having said all the above. I trust my govt becos it has put in place a system to get rid of ppl without integrity. Sometimes, for justice to take place. It may take longer than i hoped, but it will happen eventually…

@inverted nation, let me tell you a story

Last night I dream that lala and po came to visit me then they told me i won a million dollars. I was so happy that i went to call twinkie winkie about this but he was not in so i decided to drop by his house. But alas, twinkie winkie was not at home. However, his house was unlocked so I decided to enter and stay till he return. Two hours later, twinkie winkie returned home and I shared the joyous news with him. We decided to celebrate by going for high tea and invite barney along.
We had a great time catching up while enjoying our high tea. However, dark clouds soon gathered and it was apparent that a storm was coming. So we decided that it was time to go home. But suddenly Barbie called me and asked me if it was true that I had won a million dollars.
But it was at that exact moment, I woke up and realise that it was all just a wonderful dream

    • Ken

      @ Chris
“It is a case of slander by Roy on PM.”
Slander is defamation by the spoken words. Libel is defamation in writing. Looks like you need another correction.

Let me tell everyone a story. Last night, I dream that my neighbor’s house caught fire. Their whole house was engulfed in flame. The fire was so big that the fire brigade could not put up the fire so they called for a rescue helicopter to come and air lift my neighbor out. When the helicopter arrived, the rescuer recognized that my neighbor is his father’s arch enemy. As time was of the essence, my neighbor admitted that he had cheated and agreed to make compensation but the rescuer said that he was not sincere and ask him to strip naked. However, super roy happened to chance upon the scene, he quickly changed to his superhero outfit , flew into the burning house and rescued my neighbour. My neighbour was so grateful to super roy that he offered his Mcdonald happy meal toy to Roy. Roy loves happy meal toys so he willingly accepted the toy, Everyone was happy that everything turned out okay.
Just then, I woke up and realize that it was just a dream.

Cellular gaming has long been liked by individuals who wish to play games.
Often the creation of iPhone has taken cell phone gaming to
a distinct degree. The majority of the i
phone applications have presented users high fun playing experience and some purchase it to advertise business goods.
The apple iphone usually provides for improvement highly solid and
engaging cellular games. Getting an iPhone sport app is rather
a fun filled but attention seeking approach, mainly because it requires iPhone game developers to know their market requirements along with deliver game
which often not only keep hold of them and also become cause of amusement.

Roy, seriously tell you go fight on the reservist topic, u will surly win… The Army pays people 10-20K salary to go reservist as clerk / cook in the army. Don’t everyone think this is wasting tax payers money?

How come u keep going on and on, on the CPF? CPF ultimately is just money parked there and not wasted. Interest is lower, yes, I agree but so what?? If you have the dedication and put in enough effort with the brains that god gives you, I am sure you will be able to make the money back from else where, probably even faster and not depending on anyone/ government.

Side comment: There are a lot of old Singaporean horny man stupidly & happily give their money to CHINA GAL and get cheated, then go running to the government asking for help?

ROY NG are you serious about helping the poorer Singaporeans or its just a small part of a big scamp getting famous overnight by deflamating LSL so you can get free publicity?? Following chain of events by making yourself look pitiful and pleading the WEAK Singaporeans (those who blame at everything under the sun but not themselves) to Vote you to becoming an MP making 10-15k a month ? in my humble opinion its a part of your plot to strike it big overnight. I have to say Roy, that you are a very smart man, making use of free publicity and sympathy from our fellow Singaporeans who don’t think or plot that much..

Honestly Singaporeans who support you, have they really seen the world or just another FROG IN THE WELL?? Mexico murder ? India rape cases more then our shoplifting? Brazil drug lords shooting 1 officer dies everyday from a gun fire? China people making food out of drain water? Malaysia break in theft cases, hit and run drunk driving, rape, gun robbery? North Korea & Iraq needless to comment? Talking about taxes do you know Europe income taxes as high as 55% ? Look at our SGD currency its only one way “north”, stable economy.

if our government or LSL as what you claim, how could we without natural resources such as Petronas in Malaysia be one of the most prosperous city in the whole? I give you a suggestion just tear away the passport and go, get out of Singapore, go find your perfect country?

I am not a anyone related to the government, but I feel that people who make noise are the cannot make it “CMI”. If you spend more time thinking of how to make money instead of “why am I a piece of shit and why god is so unfair” then maybe you wont bitch that much.

    My 2 cents worth.

    ROAR
    Bears….
