[Update SEVEN 05062014] Fund Raising For Roy Ngerng’s Court Case Against Lee Hsien Loong

It has been one week since the fund raising started. We managed to reach the target of $70,000 in 4 days. There are still some funds coming in. Thank you everyone for your thoughts and well-wishes. I am still updating on the funds coming in on a daily basis. If the funds slow down in the next few days, I would move towards doing a weekly update instead. You can read more about what the court case is about and the fund raising appeal here.

We are now awaiting the pre-trial on 4 July 2014, before the court case is decided.

This coming Saturday, 7 June will be a very important – #ReturnOurCPF. Please do join us. I will be speaking. So will other speakers with knowledge on the CPF, such as Leong Sze Hian Kenneth Jeyaretnam. Mr Tan Kin Lian and Vincent Wijeysingha will also be speaking.

We are $18,444.70 in excess at this point. The funds will be set aside for any legal costs orders (if) made against me during the court proceedings by the court for me to pay the opposing sides legal cost if I lose any (interlocutory) applications in court. We have currently stopped putting out an active appeal for funds but if the funds continue coming in, I will be open and transparent with them and publish them, so as to be accountable.

Please see below for further information on the funds coming in so far, as of 5.00pm today.

Funds Raised So Far

We have raised $88,444.70 so far.

Funds Raised by 5 June 2014 5pm

Transaction Histories

Please see below the transaction histories of the bank accounts.

Below is the transaction history for the POSB Savings Bank Account 130-23068-7 (Ngerng Yi Ling). This is my personal bank account.

$82,545.20 has been raised from here.

4 to 5 June 2014 5pm-page-001 (1)

Below is the transaction history for the OCBC Savings Bank Account 657-4-111750 (Ngerng Mui Choo). My father helped set up this bank account yesterday solely for this fund raising.

$3,237.82 has been raised from here.

OCBC 5 June

OCBC 4 June

Below is the transaction history for PayPal (royngerng@gmail.com). Please note that the PayPal is linked to my personal POSB bank account. I will include these amounts in the funds raised when they enter my personal POSB bank account, for ease of accounting.

$5,316.31 has been raised from here.

PayPal 4 to 5 June 5pm

We have reached the target of $70,000 for the legal and court fees. We have stopped putting out an active appeal funds at this point. For the actual amount of damages, we would only be able to know after the court case is over. Based on past cases, the damages go above $200,000.

I understand that funds might still be coming in – please note that any additional funds will be set aside any legal costs orders (if) made against me during the court proceedings by the court for me to pay the opposing sides legal cost if I lose any (interlocutory) applications in court. If there is any excess, the options will be to donate them to charity – I will consult Singaporeans on the use of the excess funds. I will continue to keep transparent records of the funds so as to be accountable and allow everyone to keep track of the funds. Please do send me your feedback as well on how you would like to do this.

Once again, do join us at the upcoming #ReturnOurCPF event this Saturday. I will be speaking at the event. The more Singaporeans who come, the more the government will recognise that this is an issue that hits home and that the government should look seriously into. The CPF are our hard-earned money. The government has a responsibility to answer to Singaporeans how our CPF is being used, and to be transparent and accountable.

When we stand united, our voice will be strong. When we are heard, change will come.

There is a petition that you can sign here.

See you this coming Saturday! The Facebook event page can be found here.

    See.
Another post. Now must counter all his half truths again…
A citizen’s got to do what a citizen got to do.

    • Ding hua

Hey Chris, glad to see you always hanging around. I like to talk to people with lots of opinions but not sour grape at the same time.

      • Chris

        Thanks ding hua
Although I don’t agree that u should migrate eventually. I appreciate ur forthrightness.
Ppl with Different opinion is ok, but dun blame the govt for everything.

      • Ding hua

Hey Chris, thanks for your quick response. There is a Chinese saying 人往高处爬,水往低处流。Don’t know if you can understand.. We must learn to be flexible. If things dont work out, move on. Staying in one place will not make a person improve.

      • Ding hua

My company is sending me to China next month to recruit 5 master degree gradﹰuates come over here. We Chinese are hardworking and do not complain as much. I hope to help them and sponsor a few of my relatives to come here and secure PR. I can also earn some extra cash from them. A win win for everyone. I think Singapore needs more of us to sustain its economy.

    • Ding hua

And I also like long long and illustrative articles from Roy, complete with charts and tables. Very informative and helps improve my English which is not my native language.

    • nosferatu

Chris it’ll be interesting to see if you’re a plant. Then again so could Roy. Social media is an interesting phenomenon in thr quiet civil revolution, the Thai Junta has banned certain use of it for good reason. Only time will tell if it is truly a game changer at all. There is no pro pap, pro sgp, pro roy, pro anything. The human existence exists for one reason only, itself. All countries, all governments are essentially the same because the players are the same – human. The victor will always be the one to write history, those in power will always want to maintain power under whatever facade of governance it chooses. It is never about who is right, it is about who is left 😉

      • Chris

        Nosferatu
        Maybe, maybe not.
Different ppl are entitled to their views.
There r right and wrong in life. It depends on how u r brought up, wat sort of moral u r taught.
I am pro Singapore becos I am Singaporean. I admire many countries becos they have so much more than us due to their sheer size. but I know none can replace Singapore for me.
Integrity of our leaders are important and those who say someone had committed a crime against Singaporeans deserve a chance to proof his claim. So that no one is above the law. Similarly, we cannot have ppl to make baseless allegations on our leaders.
Social media is important but it may be a boon or bane. It all depends on teaching ppl the right way to use it. Be aware of the “dangers” of social media and not fall into traps laid by ppl who have no integrity.
Maybe u view the world as u have described. But that doesn’t mean everyone is of that view. Human beings r great becos we have a moral compass and integrity and the ability to do the right things. For those ppl who do not have integrity, they must be brought down if they show their true colours.

      • Xmen

        Chris,

Since you have so much to say, why don’t you start your own blog and stop loitering and polluting this space. I think everyone has read enough of your writings here. Free us from having to endure more of the same spiel.

Of course it applies to many others too.

      • Nosferatu

Xmen, the propaganda machine is indeed strong. That is the very basis for societal conditioning. The thought that we can be guided by a “moral” compass is questionable at best, history has proven time again that it is precisely this “moral” compass that truly caused the greatest loss of death on both sides of the “good” vs “evil” war, be it based on so-called “beliefs”, “religions”, “philosophies”, “ideologies” etc. The fact of the matter is every form of governance relies on the majority of its governing tools based on negative reinforcement or punishment, i.e. a punitive based system rather than an incentive based positive reinforcement system, which Pavlov postulates to be preferential method of behavioral conditioning. Hence, underscoring that, humankind essentially will spiral down towards greater chaos unless there is a hand to smack them. We even have a global police (the USA) to smack anything in the way of freedom, liberty and democracy 😉 as long as desired interests are kept first of course….

      • Chris

        Hi both,
Indeed, the propaganda machine is very strong. Goes to show that ppl from both sides r not giving up…
Well, as human beings it is important to believe there is a moral compass in everyone. That’s what make us human in the first place. But of cos, there r humans who r assholes will always live close by. That’s why we mustn’t let our guard down, like in this situation.
Thus, the need to establish laws and order, allowing us to bring back those who moved off from his “compass”.
Yes, human history will be full of love, tragedy, unequality, destruction, fear and many other things. But all these events make our histories and lessons learnt.

If u wish to focus ur thoughts on the bad, u will never acknowledge the good.
If u r ignorant of the good, and embrace the thoughts and ideas of the bad. Then u r bad, but in ur mind u will assume u r “good”. Thinking ur “good” is bringing salvation, when u r actually bringing bad destruction.
Such r the ppl, we must stop…

      • Ding hua

Hi Chris, its me… I like to read your story. Do you happen to have a blog somewhere? I see you can write very well and equally as long as the author, but only in comment. Unlike you, I am pro-PAP, not pro-Singapore. I think people here tend to look down on me because I am from China. By the way, my QQ friend is intending to migrate here from Shaanxi due to the brighter prospect. He is asking me for some advice. I think Singapore is a clean and orderly city. People here obey the law. Not sure if I should tell him my eventual migration plan to Canada though. But he can help bring my parents in so that I don’t need to fly there since my parents have never travelled out of China. Do you think I should let him fetch my parents or should I go there and bring my parents here?

      • Chris

        Hi ding HUA
        Nope I don’t blog.
I generally don’t look Down on ppl from china but if they want to come and stay in sg. Just need them to respect our culture, habits, law , cleanliness, orderliness, etc..
Becos I believe the reason for them to like to stay here in sg is becos the above-mentioned is what Singapore represents. If folks from china want to stay here and “turn” Singapore into another “china”. Then better not come…
I understand the need to “feel at home in sg” but still take note sg needs to remain sg. If china folks “change” sg into “china”, then why bother coming over…
        Just my thoughts…
The rest of ur question is personal and up to ur discretion.

      • Ding hua

Hi Chris, thanks for your honest feedback. I enjoy reading honest feedback 🙂
I fully agree with you and there is no way folks like me can turn Singapore into another China. Maybe it is just that majority here are Chinese, so the Americans poor in geography may think it is part of China. But it doesn’t matter. We share so many similar cultures. After the cultural revolution, many people are not allowed to celebrate festivals. I see you people here still keep up the old tradition that has largely got thrown away. Example the hungy ghost festival. If you come to China, we will welcome you as our own as we see no difference between the Chinese here and the Chinese back at my motherland. 我们都是中国人, 自己人 🙂

      • 1kickko

ding hua a son of the bitch like u just sabotage other new citizen here… 1 of the main reason why all other innocent new citizen been look down..

Hey kickko boy, so how is the deal? You paying me how much to get your 7 inch chopstick into my rectum? Disclaimer 1, I wont guarantee your chopstick will not break when I go high. Disclaimer 2, your chopstick will not come out same color. Most likely it will be brown and smelly. You got to clean up yourself.

      • Francis

dinghua..ikickko wont clean up…he can be like roy and get other people to clean up after him…

      • Ding hua

Hey Francis, it really takes one to know another. This is something I have never encountered. If he does not clean his soiled chopstick, wouldn’t it rot and attract maggots?

      • Ah long

KickTheBucket, if you ever there, identify yourself. I will bring 1 parang for you.

      • 1kickko

Ding hua i dont look down on public toilet but just avoid at all costs… the chopsticks u mention is it your father left at your asshole… look like a gross incest public toilet.. your dad francis?

      • Ding hua

Hi 1kickko, my father left your chopstick at the hawker center. Remember to collect it or it would be thrown away by the cleaner.

      • 1kickko

      • Ding hua

My father left “your” chopstick at the hawker center. 🙂

      • 1kickko

u sound like someone having pre pregnancy blues… can ask roy to announce your breaking news at their event.. that will be an attractive advertisement to their show

  3. Norman Wee

Roy, in the coming court hearing, of course you will accuse LHL of not engaging bloggers like you. Now the question is do you engage commentators to your posts. Please be prepared for this otherwise you may be accuse of kettle calling the pot black.

    • active citizenry

Roy doesn’t have to engage you because you don’t pay him. But we citizens pay LHL, that’s why he has to engage us. Remember, he’s the one who called himself a public servant.

      • May

Didn’t “we” just give him over $90k? When did Singaporeans suddenly become so nice, give money without asking what it’s going to be used for exactly, no need for transparency other than “legal defense fund” and pictures of account updates. I think for a person who in less than a week has just made $90k, and possibly more than $120k by end of the month, in some sense he is now in a position not far from PM lee. Why shouldn’t he respond to us?

    • Don Jon

Norman Wee & Francis, both are stupid fuckers with lame comments expecting ppl to laugh. WTF. Grow up bitches

      • Norman Wee

Let me list out the challenge to avoid misunderstanding:

In my exchange of comments with Ken he indulged in pettiness calling me names and spitting out sarcasm just because he could not agree with my contentions.
His retorts were pachy throwing catchphrases and Roy’s cliché here and there denying netizens the opportunities to analyse his thought process and logic to decide if they want to engage with him further.

My experience with people like him is they lack 文。

文 as we know is essential for intelligent debates on important issues such as cpf. Imagine Roy adopting ken’s style in court or Parliament.

Normally those who lack 文 we can assume they are good at 武。

So if Ken and I do bump into each other on saturday he can choose 文 or 武。I will humbly accept.
By the way affray in Singapore is an offence and illegal. But MMC is legal.

So Ken if we do bump into each on Saturday please let me know your preference. Please be a Mickey Mouse and not a Meeky Mouse

  4. nosferatu

What Singaporeans seem to crave is a true opposition party. What the ruling party needs to do (if they aren’t already doing so 😉 ) is give the people that. People do not need freedom or choice, just the illusion of it will suffice and is far more efficient.

  5. Daddy Issues

    Daddy, Daddy
    Look, Look
I am suing just like you daddy.
I am going to High Court just like you daddy.

  6. neutral

Nosferatu, you seem to be the only one making sense here. Unfortunately your words will fall on deaf ears. Humans have been conditioned for centuries to believe in this mythical simplicity of good versus evil, they want it, crave it, die for it. Just sit back and enjoy the show, I know I will 🙂

    • Nosferatu

Thanks for your kind words although they are not warranted. I am not even sad that the words will “fall on deaf ears”, there’s a reason why typical populations follow a bell-curve. Just a tip for the so-called freedom fighters, changing any regime (rightly or wrongly) is usually not that simple although if from within, it may prove worth-while considering. A once very powerful man said “If you don’t like a rule, just follow it, reach on the Top, and change the rule”. Blind and stupid love and patriotism is still after all….. blind and stupid.

  7. LHL

What if the lawsuit didn’t continue and there is no need for any compensation? Is Roy going to return the 80k to everyone?

    • Francis

haha .. the effort to return the money will be quite a task … or perhaps he can ask for permission to donate it to charity ? or to the ACTION FOR AIDS ?

      • Chris

Going by Roy’s theory, he must have an open discussion with the donors and everyone must agree before he can do anything…
        Much like
“PM must hold open discussion with mr Roy on cpf, gic, taxes, basically all govt activities. Then our elected govt must open their books, show and explain to him why things r as such. If Roy doesn’t understand the terms, theory behind anything, our elected govt must spend precious time enlightening his mind until he is absolutely satisfied. This process must carry on until Roy the great is totally assured everything is legal. So that Roy can tell the ppl of Singapore his analysis and verdict…. Also, most probably Roy will need to verify and confirm our judiciary system is sound and impartial. Gg his theory, every thing that flows through Singapore must seek his approval before things can move…. What is mentioned here is just a tip of Roy’s theory”
Boy, that is a gigantic task mr Roy ngerng. R u the mysterious heroic saviour that will save all Singaporeans when they don’t even know they need saving?
NO! U r a joke of Singapore. Why does our elected govt need to be accountable to u? If this elected govt is not doing well, it will be out in the next election. Who do u think u r to think that u r representing Singaporeans? I am a pure breed Singaporean and I say u can go fly kite….

      • Xmen

        Chris,
Don’t you have a day job? If you have so much to say, show up on June 7 to share your thoughts with others. (I have already advised you to start a blog.) Go to sleep…. it’s getting late… you have written enough (garbage) here.

      • choofrfreoer

Usually when people want to discuss, they should have either 1) knowledge from education or 2) experience from working in the field. A person who has both is considered a true expert in the field.

If people don’t have either quality, perhaps they should consider what they are bringing to the discussion table. How are you supposed to go into an in-depth discussion about ethics, economics, politics, etc. if your opponent has absolutely no clue of what you are saying?

Does Roy Ngerng have any of the above qualities? It would help if he stated them in his future blog posts to quell any doubt about his abilities (or lack thereof).

      • Chris

        Xmen
Most of the ppl there r idiots supporting another idiot leader …
Why should I bring credibility to a bunch of idiots living in their own world? Gg there doesn’t mean my voice will be heard, rather it will be drown by idiots… Can anyone talk sense to a large group of “mentally ill” ppl? I am not a professional IMH doctor or nurse…
        FYI,
I do have a day job…. This is my current part time. And doing some part time investment, many other things as well for self interest.
I am born into a lower strata of Singapore family. Attended Mainstream local schools throughout my education life. I am not outstanding, pretty normal… Whatever so-called small achievements I have is becos of the stable, fwd looking govt and my own doing.
I dun really adore pap, but if any one wants to accuse the elected PM falsely. I think it’s necessary to debunk those claims that r too one-sided. It is an despicable act to make use of unsustainable populist theory to garner support from the weak-minded…

      • Ding hua

Hi Chris, I like your day job. Mine is also quite flexible. I can surf the web while doing my research. My family is at Shaanxi, we live in a small village with no internet. I study hard and got quite good results in my high school. Then I was offered scholarship by your government to come here. Without your government, I doubt I will be so successful in life. I really like your PM generosity and kindness. My only way to return the kindness is to help vote PAP. That’s my motivation. If there is a chance to enter the party and rise up from there, maybe I will stay. If not, then I will move on. Do you happen to know anyone who can get me in as a party member?

  8. cath@hotmail.com

You sleep well at night – rest assured that the netizens are all aware that you will be paying damages as we all know which side of the judges’ bread is buttered. Your request to clear off the damages will be paid for by the netizens. So, ask away and fret not! What have you got to lose?

    • microsoft furbee

Yeah man. I totally agree that we should all pay for roy ngerng court case even if it has zero shit to do with CPF and all about him insinuating without proof. It is totally worth it knowing that your $10/$100/$1000 is going to some guy who engages in sensationalism to get people supporting him

    • choofrfreoer

Watch what you are saying and never repeat this again. You could be hauled up for contempt of court charges, even if this is an online space. It is possible to track everything on the internet even if you are using proxies like TOR. If you truly think your identity is protected, think again.

  9. Biihfahwacfditotg

This is huge slap in the face of lhl. I love it. Roy lose Liao just declare bankrupt and continue blog and critize pap policies without defaming any one anymore ( hopefully). Roy is a healthcare worker .. Exactly what he do ah . Medical social worker ? Nurse ? Pharmacist ?

Agreed! The co-driver forgets to slap the driver who is driving in the wrong direction. Passengers got irritated, stand up, walk to the front of the cabin and each gave the driver a tight slap. 1000+ of them.

  13. Warning

Please let me warn you. The police cybercrime unit is looking into these posts and they have the means to identify who made these posts as they have access to data by the local SP(Singtel, M1, Starhub). This I got from verified sources. You can also choose not to believe what I said and its entirely up to you. But what i dont know is i do not know what they intend to do with these data.

    • Xmen

      Buddy,

The police has access to everything you do on Internet (porn or not). Xmen knew that years ago. The brave people who donated to RN’s cause all knew that too. So don’t be a chicken trying to frighten everyone else. (BTW – It was called FUD in my days.)

If you don’t already know yet, (and you apparently don’t,) everything on the Internet is for others to see. Not even German’s Angela Merkel is safe from snooping. Don’t u think someone higher up is also listening on the SPF and LHL?

So go ahead to show up on June 7. You could be one of those people who make history and make your grandchildren proud!

      Cheers.

      • choofrfreoer

Just because the internet is an online space, it doesn’t mean it’s immune to Singapore’s laws. Criticise the government all you want, but any allegations of criminal wrongdoing or challenging the integrity of the judicial system could have very real repercussions.

  14. choofrfreoer

    Our ministers are retards. Why?

With their abilities, they could be CEOs of MNCs and earning many times their current pay. LHL set a record as Senior Wrangler in the history of Cambridge. Other ministers, especially those from Ivy League or Oxbridge have the entire world open to them.

Yet, they chose to enter politics, earn a lower pay as compared to the private sector and have a subsequent loss of privacy which comes along with such a decision. This is why they are retards.

I always find it interesting when people think LHL is out to steal money. People say that with the idea that if LHL wasn’t PM, he would be earning lower pay in another job. These people don’t earn much, so they think that LHL’s current pay is very high and he doesn’t deserve it. This is a disingenuous suggestion. LHL is actually giving up the chance to earn much higher pay by becoming PM of Singapore.

But I guess some people will never accept this. Because they only see a million-dollar salary as an absolute concept, but not relative to the salaries people of similar calibre in the private sector, which are way higher.

    • Chris

Well, envy is a human nature.
Wow, did PM really set record as senior wrangler? That’s really an achievement. But u stating it here will invite criticism by some naysayers here. Such ppl will assume mr LKY used his influence to make it so… In their world, They will assume this becos they think our founding PM is god, everybody in university of Cambridge must listen to him… Such stupidity…
My pay is low too in comparison. but I do not hanker after our ministers pay becos they work harder than me and r smarter than me. If I truly think I’m good, then I’ll be a businessman. No point spending so much time explaining policies and debating abt the well fare of Singaporeans. Then still get criticized by some idiots. Some more as businessman, I’ll make more money if I’m good…
We must have faith that such envious ppl r the minority of Singaporeans.

      • Ding hua

Yes, we must have faith that sour grapes are a minority in Singapore. I can’t take it when people keep harping on the money other people donate. Glad we see eye to eye 🙂

  15. Chua

Well, by coincidence or not, I got a survey call from Ministry of Communications and Information yesterday on the recent Parliament session. I gave my frank opinion on the recent government measures and performance but given its sudden nature, did not give any specific comments or recommendations. Anyway, I stand by the comments I made online so I am not too concerned. It’s actually good that irresponsible comments can be traced to its source. Hopefully that will promote better net ethics. The point is you can say anything you want as long as you take ownership of the responsibility and repercussion that may come along.

  16. Chris

The modus operandi of Roy is very similar to another person. Mr Chee.
I dun like him too. IMO, SDP under his charge was the reason why it is so lousy now. Using taunting tactics to demand talking to our ex-PM (mr Goh)…
    Very underhanded…

    • Ding hua

Hi Chris, sorry, I have to be honest. I quite disagree with you on this. Roy is like a boy and Chee, who is chee??
I think he didn’t taunt anyone, maybe his charts are too illustrative? Let’s be objective 🙂

  17. So Fuck Off Already

Don’t you wish LKY and the rest of his pig disciples will just leave the scene quickly ?
    It’s getting very tiresome.
“You either die a hero … or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.”
    Just like Julius Caeser.

    • Chris

Well, if he and his fans stop spreading falsehood and give ppl the good and the inadequencies of the system. Then these “pigs” will leave…
Demand and supply ma, just a bit twisted…

      • Ding hua

Hi Chris, I wrote you a few message. Hope to see your reply. If you can send me your email better still. I think we can be good friends 🙂

  18. Analyst

Reading comment on this site in the last couple of weeks, I can conclude that there are many full time PAP IBs here and they give themselves away by using the same process of argument. They always start off as being very considerate and logical, then progress into cloudiness and then finally when they lose the argument, they become aggressive, threaten or call you names. This is known as the 3 “C” in the argument process.

    1. 1st “C” – Convince
They will try to convince you that their position is right with logic and data if possible, When it is proven that their argument and data is wrong/skewed etc, they move on to the next level.

    2. 2nd “C” – Confuse
Here they will try and confuse you. They will not answer to the point but bring out irrelevant or new issues to draw you away from the original discussion. They will use strawman arguments and everything else but answer to the question. The muddier the better. It is like when you ask them, “Where is the coffee powder?”, they say that “It is in the cup of coffee”. How much of the coffee powder or how little of the coffee powder was use, you don’t know. You don’t like milk or sugar in your coffee isn’t an option.

    3. 3rd “C” – Condemn
When you point all all their fallacies and ask them not to weasel out of the original argument, that’s when they will condemn you.
The call you names like daft, bodoh, idiots, mentally-ill etc or they will threaten you like saying, police can access everything, your donation can be trace, police video tape you etc.

At this point in time, you know that you have won the argument. They want to argue further, do not entertain them. Let them talk to themselves. This is what they hate most – nobody is interested in their argument. Don’t entertain them!

Next time, you see arguments by PAP IBs or MPs, look use this checklist to confirm this argument process.
Don’t believe, just read all the posts in this website over the last 2 weeks to verify.

Have a wonderful and successful weekend!

    • Chris

      Analyst
It is Very similar to Roy modus operandi too.
All taught by the same education system…
Btw, do u know whether these so-called pap ib, Roy IB, opposition ib, whatever ib r paid or not?
I’m neutral so does that mean no one will pay me?

      • Ding hua

Hi Chris, my English is bad. I keep seeing IB, IB… What is it actually? Ice boy? Itchy bitch?

      • Chris

One bro told me it’s Internet brigade. I was quite surprised to know there is such a term…

    • Outsourcing PAP Trolls To India

Anything from the PAP gahmen sure good one.
      But just to be sure.
I will double confirm by voting in more Opposition.

PAP already in power for 50 years.
Getting a bit fat and lazy.
Must spur them on to work harder.

Can you imagine how lazy PAP government have become?
Using their running dogs in the internet to carry out a policy discussion with the public.!

      • Chris

“How u know that they r lazy? Did u sleep with them last night?”
Spur them is good, just dun bring in idiots into parliament…

      • Ding hua

Yes, I agree. Idiots should not be brought into parliament. Hey Chris, do you happen to know how to apply for PAP membership? 🙂

    • Ian

      @analyst

Well then, base on your theory, this can be applied to those anti-PAP IB as well, such as the famous Francis who has already progress all the way to the 3rd C.

So that means we still can’t differentiate between PAP IB and anti-PAP IB. 😦

      • Slapping Yourself

/// Spur them is good, just dun bring in idiots into parliament… ///
        Chris @ 10.38am

        ROFL.
        Good one.
I really don’t know what to say.
Are you suddenly turn against PAP and use Tin Pei Ling as an example?

      • Chris

        That’s funny…
I dun really like her but doesn’t means she is not doing her job as mp. In comparison with the idiot Roy and maybe his gang of “copy and paste” analysts. at least she dun create falsehood and one-sided theories.
I do believe she is doing better than when she first began…
Why can’t u ppl believe that I’m pro-Singapore? U mean that ppl must be under some clan before they can voice their opinion?

  19. Is This Destructive Politics ??

” … leadership is about being able to listen (to) both good and bad without getting angry, and without having the urge for retaliation. Like, you know, possibly like suing and things like that.
So I guess it’s better that you say, okay, you say your points, we can always discuss. I’ll get my perm sec, I’ll get my ministers, then we sit down and call you in, or call a few guys in and have a chat. Then we can put up a report, yes, we have discussed this and this is what we have come up to a conclusion or whatever.
Basically it is a more amicable way of doing things for the progress, and for moving forward constructively. That is constructive politics.
Destructive is, basically you clobber people, you threaten people, and you do things that anger people, and worse still, you get politicians coming up with words like xenophobic and things like that. You know, it is uncomfortable, it irritates.”

    • Chris

Listening to good and bad is important. Condoning baseless accusation is equally important.
Moving good policies fwd is key function of parliament. Good policies r derived from various channels.
Such Channels with interaction with ministers r in placed for a long time. If ppl with views to share r welcomed. Ppl looking to “gate crash” with only posing ur ideas and not accepting other ppl ideas r not welcome.
So what was Roy looking for? Personal face time with ministers? Why he so special? Is he Singaporean “demigod”? Is “slandering” the PM the way to get such FaceTime?
No offence. But u have brought up valid points which govt has done and still doing… What Roy had done is unacceptable….

  20. Xmen

    Chis,

I counted 17 comments from you out of 90 here – almost a good 1/5 of the comments. I’m sure everyone has had enough.

    I’m done here. BYE.

    • Ding hua

Hi Chris, if you not convenient to tell me openly about the party membership, send me your email address, we can talk privately. Or you can find me on facebook if you know how to find me.

  21. Ace

    @Chris
You say that you are pro-Singapore and not pro-PAP. That is excellent.
To show your sincerity and confirm what you said, can you name 5 good things that the opposition parties in Singapore has done for Singaporeans since GE 2011.

Let me start with one ok?
The BE at PE woke PAP up after WP highlighted the lack of pre-schools and childcare centres in that area.
More of such facilities were open since the PE benefiting the Singaporeans living there.

There you have it. You continue with the list, OK?

    • Chris

      Struggling here on this one…
      Let me think:
      – improvement on HDB allocation. Although not directly becos of WP. But as they managed to win a grc, pap realised that HDB allocation is a big problem. Alas, they changed the system to allow more “desperate” family have flats in a priority system (no need to wait with the rest of the buyers). and also built and building more flats now.
      Off-hand only this one.
But becos the WP won, the country lost a good person to the private sector. In my heart, I feel that someone else should not sacrificed for that grc loss. Such is the collateral damage due to a mistake in calculating the importance of HDB flats supply at a crucial time of election. Thus election is a big thing. Losing good ppl due to losing election is a real thing. Dun play play…
      – next is transport (also big topic) but to give credit to opposition is a bit far fetch. Maybe WP gave some good ideas since they r mp. Now I hope the new system for buses will improve the current situation once onlined.

Seldom see WP do anything significant though.
But WP really need to clean up their house. Scandals like the town council thingy does not give them brownie points. I’m an outsider so I only believe what I hear. If nothing is clarified properly, I will assume its true.

Btw, what is BE & PE? Didn’t get ur point there…

      • Chris

        I meant
“In my heart, I feel that someone else should have been sacrificed …. “

      • Ding hua

Hi Chris, finally manage to catch you. Please see my comments above. Waiting to here from you 🙂

      • Ace

        BE=By-Election
        PE=Punggol East
Now name me 5 good things the PAP has done since GE2011 on their own initiative for Singaporeans. Pro active not reactive policies.

      • Chris

        Ace,
Enough of this 5 things here n 5 things there.
The point is Roy’s blog allegations true or false.
        Let’s not digress.

      • Ding hua

Hi Ace, as a new citizen, I don’t know much about the benefits for Singaporeans. For me, as a scholar from China, I have benefitted immensely. Since coming here, I never need to worry about food, accomodation or school fees. All are covered by the government. I can only assume Singaporeans should receive much better treatment compared to me, who was a foreigner at that time. That is the reason I took up citizenship. Also, there is also a second option for me to go Canada. I heard it is easier to get PR there if you are a Singapore citizen.

      • Ding hua

Hi Chris, I can tell that you are not pro-PAP as you can’t even list out a single good done by them 🙂

      • Chris

        Well ding HUA,
Maybe I can’t say or don’t want to say… But regards what my knowledge on pap is. Does it matter?
Just look around u, Singapore today and 50 years ago. Need anyone say more?

      • Ace

        @Chris
I thought the topic was whether you are pro-Singapore or pro-life PAP. How did the topic change.

        @Ding hua
for every scholar like you who benefit, one Singaporean has to give up his place in our uni and many others have to be burdened with study debts.

So you see, you benefit from Singaporean taxpayers but your gratitude goes to the PAP. I am learning how to use other people’s money to benefit my family but don’t know how. Since you are a scholar, what’s your advice?

      • Chris

        Ace,
Topic did not change in that post, u need to read everything from ur post – top to bottom.
But of cos, the main topic is Roy…

      • Ding hua

Hey Chris, your reply is like mystery. What is your verdict. Sorry, I wasn’t born 50 years ago. As a new citizen, my knowledge is limited. Can’t help you there 🙂

      • Ding hua

@Ace, my advice is to study hard and get a scholarship too. Singapore is a meritocratic society, whoever can perform the best get government investment for free.

      • Ace

        @Chris
When we start a fresh topic, stay with it, it’s to prove that you are pro-Singapore as claimed.
However, the more you comment, the spots and the strips are showing that you are actually pro a certain party.
Hint: It is not a colour.

        @Ding hua
So you want me to do my PHD?
I would if I was sponsored.
Anyway, I was hoping you would tell me to look for a country that would sponsor me for free and then I can use it as a stepping stone to go to Canada. I’ve been searching but there are not too many stupid government around the world that would do this. So, how?

      • Ding hua

Hi Ace, I think your government is only sponsoring people who are best in the world. The best in Singapore may not be good enough. You got to try harder. Isn’t that how meritocracy work?

  22. Norman Wee

I will be at Hong Lim tomorrow and if given to speak I will touch on the following:
    1. Roy, the LKY in the making…why, how and the pitfalls
    2. Top 10 predictable human behavior in relation to ReturnMyCPF
    3. Top 10 Singapore realities in relation to ReturnMyCPF
    4. Implications of it does happen, god forbid.
    Thank you.

      • Ding hua

Thanks bro. I see we both have time, so why not make use of it while you wait for other people to respond to you after office hour?

  23. Not 3 Year Old Children Anymore

    @ Ace @ 2.38pm
Good observation about PAP neglecting Punggol East before losing the Punggol East by-elections.

Many PAP supporters also agree with me.
In order to get better facilities for their constituencies, they find it necessary to vote Opposition.
They tell me in confidence that they see a continued need to vote Opposition in GE 2016.
Because the current PAP government remains unrepentant with its hearing problems.

    Votes Speak Louder Than Words.
We are not 3 year old children anymore

  24. Chua

Check out what kjeyaretnam has to say on the CPF issue
    http://sonofadud.com/2014/05/28/cpf-why-we-must-keep-up-the-pressure/
In my opinion, this is what constructive political blog is. The issues he raised on CPF resonates with what I felt. Before we know enough to push for higher returns or a return of your CPF, gather the information to prove/disprove crony capitalism is at work.
Good luck to all pushing for more transparency from the government. Its a worthy cause.

  25. sheryl

The CPF is there for a reason because man are short sighted and dont have the means to manage their own funds or save enough for retirement. Suppose there is no CPF system, and you merely use your money for present needs, how do you have enough when you retire? Suppose you retire at 63 and you live for another 20 years. Are you confident of having enough to live comfortably and adequately, without putting pressures on your children (if any)? The CPF system may have it’s flaws, but Singaporeans need to understand its importance. Many countries look up to our system and look for possibility of adopting it to implement in their own nations. There is NO perfect system in the world, and if the government is willing to make changes along the way, these actions should be applauded instead of being condemned. Singaporeans should learn to make constructive comments, and not blindly support anyone who can bravely stand up against the government (which is why there is so much support for the opposition). It’s saddening to see how comments pour in to degrade the government and the PM. Many of them are rude and if I may say, ungrateful. What about the positive things our government has done for us? Are they conveniently forgotten, or merely taken for granted? If only we can all provide suggestions in a calm manner and not in this angst and agitated state. If only these Singaporeans who are angry with the government take a trip overseas/take time to understand political parties/government abroad and learn to understand and appreciate how great our government has been, despite their flaws, of which they have been trying to work and improve on. The rate of return from CPF maybe be eroded by inflation and could give rise to higher return should we manage it on our own via investment. However, how many Singaporeans are savvy investors? Most of us, including me, are mere layman who are risk averse and afraid to take up high risk investment that would give us high return. The government doesnt ‘cheat’ us our money; demanding government to return you your CPF just imply your lack of understanding towards the system. I am not confident of commenting on other areas of CPF, but one thing I am certain is, your money will always still intact and continue to grow in CPF. Even if GIC made a bad investment and loses all the CPF funds (worst case scenario), your money would still remain intact because MAS has the ability to print notes in SGD. Suppose you invest your money in a fund (recall: Global financial crisis in 2008) and you loses all your money. That’s it. You will not be able to recover it. So please, fellow Singaporeans, stop all these negative comments and hatred towards the government and the system, and instead, turn them into constructive comments. Take time to understand the system, and not merely follow the crowd and join in the bandwagon to put the government down whenever there is a chance to do so. Thank you.
