How did a common citizen like Roy Ngerng come across so much data to present ? I hope what he has claimed in his presentations can be fully backed up and stand up to scrutiny. I will be forwarding this presentation to friends who are quite well versed and knowledgeable to verify all the facts. If they are verified, I will salute Roy. If there are untruths, I will forward this presentation to the authorities.
I am not that knowledgeable to verify if the all facts presented here are correct but after a quick scan, I notice that in slide 4, the author is trying to say that the correction in 2009 (house price indices) is caused by migrant inflow but it is not. It is caused by the sub prime mortgage crisis. S&P bottom out on March 2009, and surely property price will mirror it. Why I am sure of this, because I bought many shares during that period of time and hunted for cheap undervalue properties at that time (See S&P chart: http://finance.yahoo.com/echarts?s=%5Egspc+interactive ) I don’t really side the government because there are many things I felt unfair and disagree with. And of course there are many loop holes in the system which can be improved. 1 example is: I don’t like the increasing minimum sum over the years, now if I want to buy my 2nd property, I cannot use so much of my CPF as compared previously. Moreover I cannot touch my CPF to do any investment. The most only 35% of the investible savings under the CPF investment scheme. However, I do appreciate the tuition grant by the govt. For instance, the total payable school fees for my postgrad studies is only around $8000. Being a N level student, sg educational system allows me to work my way from N level to O levl, poly then to uni, and recently, i just got my msc recently from local uni. But that aside, as a Singaporean, I felt that we need to take sides only after we verified that facts. Likewise, I will salute Roy if what he mentioned here are real facts. Otherwise it is purely sowing discord.
Dear Philip, Who do you think you are? The gatekeeper of correct information? Or are you just trying to make yourself appear important with you “friends” and your threats to go to the “authorities”? By the time you send it to the authorities, it will be old news. Don’t waste your time – they already know.
Penalty- authorities. Reward- salute from you. Please, your salute isn’t worth 2 cents!
Better check & recheck your “facts” & have them confirmed by reliable professionals ….. unless of course you want to face problems related to accurate reporting. So many claims of “knowledgeable” briefings that had turned out to be sketchy/dubious.
