THE GREEK PENSION SYSTEM – Greece really take care of Greeks.
The Greeks receive 14 pension payments a year – monthly plus an extra one at Easter and at Christmas.
The Greeks have to pay contributions towards pensions, but not towards health care or social costs.
Unmarried daughters of soldiers and police officers inherit the pensions of their fathers and receive it for the rest of their lives.
Pensions increase in Greece at a rate usually higher than the consumer price index.
Yes, the Greeks are very well protected but Greece is going for bankruptcy. Unless Germany, and other Euro partners bail them out.
Euro Economic Community vs ASEAN (indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand etc)

R has already given an indication of what PAP’s strategies are going to. So instead of barking wildly it will do Roy a ton of good if he uses his efforts to come up with better arguments to persuasively convince Singaporeans that Greek’s predicament is irrelevant to Singapore. One thing sure is if Singapore went bankrupt all the figures with however much digits in their CPF accounts would not mean a thing.

  3. Lee Boh Jee

There are many countries who has very good welfare system eg Australia and doesn’t seems to be heading the same direction as Greece so nice try to those scaremongers. In fact, if there are no checks and balance and who knows how much is left is worse than Greece, at least the Greeks have enjoyed themselves before bankruptcy whereas we all slog like crazy and still poor because of some people high pay and bad investments. This is a saddest joke indeed.

Go check out the rate of taxes in Australia, especially income tax. Go check out Australia Super Fund scheme (similar to our CPF), how heavy the tax is if the account holder wants a full withdrawal at retirement.

    • james

@Lee Boh Jee. I guess you can only blame your parents or grandparents for bringing you to Singapore. Unlike Australia etc, we do not have natural resources for people like Roy to leech on, hence we Singaporean has to work and do our part in the economy.
May be you can make a different for your future generation, migrate to countries that you can stay unemployed, before your children or grandchildren curse you.

…and that was just my opinion. You can hate it or agree with it.

PAP had to look into where they had gone wrong, or what mistakes were made during his party’s campaign in the said jurisdictions. What did they do wrong?, asked Prime Minister.

PAP knows that deficiencies and shortcomings can only be overcome by first becoming aware of them.

What I do know is that PAP and PM contradicted themselves. They proposed a high salary class, but the truth told us that Prime Minister LHL’s highly Incompetent is only brought about by contradictory forces.

I believe this is the reason our life hasn’t changed in so many year,

Today’s technology – cellphones and internet connections- provides all that is necessary for direct democracy which will eliminate all possibility for the inevitable representative corruption contained in the present oligarchic republican form. All citizens interested in a given bill, act, law etc. could phone in or e-mail in their wishes on those bills and eliminate representative government entirely.

You do not need a party to propose a bill, act, law , just an inspired individual or group of individuals , they are a direct barrier to democracy,

blog and facebook popular , as written, provides far more democracy and voice for all the people and without the sure-to-be-corrupted parties of bourgeois politics.

A multi-party system could work in a democratic setting. While admittedly dry, Singapore do not have a democratic setting. The 2011 Elections very clearly lays out how the nationals developed and the gaps.

Of course PAP has had its most important features twisted and perverted by self-worship, in the future PAP will need to return to that grass-roots, bottom-up operation. Isn’t that correct ?

    • Norman Wee

Wow, Yeo sure has a novel proposal which only special breed of Singaporeans like him could think that out~~Internet Parliament.
All the 3.5 million Singaporeans are MPs, including expletive spewers, name callers, Woodbridge potentials…
Then what’s left to be done?…burn down Parliament House!

  5. R

I am envious of Greek. They have Germany to bail them out. Maybe Malaysia can help us. This is only in case basis. So Roy use also yr argument. Return to MALAYSIA… oK LAH

  6. Raymond Huang

Hi Roy,   Good luck for your trial. Just wish you to be strong and not capitulate. Your series of postings about the failings of PAP is right on.

      My thoughts are with you.

     RegardsBoh Kia See.

  7. Sinkies

Flawed arguments. In Sin context, either way(vote)you still die. Those who are able to survive, will survive. Eventually, the inevitable will happen just like all previous or other hegemony.

  8. Lauren Tan

What can the opposition party do. No personality It will become worst if they become the government. Singapore will fall tremendously. It is not easy to control a country you can’t please anyone. Look for yourself and don’t take thing for granted we are so fortunate than many country. People like Roy Ngern and his company are nothing but empty vessel make the most noises.
He is creating disharmony and chaotic in Singapore he lost his job and left with nothing. For those please go to Greek or Malasia if it suits you.

  9. Carrot Cake

can go back sell more cai tao kway la… what are YOUR alternatives?? complain who duno? kopi tiam and taxi drivers also can complain… fool la u… now u have to be bankrupt!!

  10. Klaire

Please use your brains and think. What’s the point of voting for the opposition party? They can not guarantee whatever they tell you and all are merely words. People who are so strongly against the PAP and for the Opposition party, you think once the Opposition party becomes selected, they can give you what you want? You’re thinking wrong. You think that the PAP has an easy job managing and handling everything? CPF is there for a reason. All your complaints and proves and whatever you want – to have the CPF removed, did you even think about it before you started all this? If CPF is removed, all the banks will go bankrupt. Without CPF, where are you going to get your subsidies for your hospitals visits? Where are you going to get funds to pay for your own flat? What makes you so sure that you have enough self-control to keep a fair share of savings apart for emergency uses? Most of the Singaporeans just like to complain, complain and bloody complain. Always saying how CPF eats up so much of your pay. Come on la, it’s not like you don’t get interest from it. The PAP are also improving the schemes and whatsoever, just be patient la. I don’t see you putting your money in a bank SO WILLINGLY but when they take your money go invest for your interest rates I don’t see you complaining. You think your interest rates drop down from the clouds ah? Lol. Roy Ngerng, just stop your crap. If you’re that unhappy living in Singapore, get out of this country lor. Don’t go drag other Singaporeans and brainwash them with all the negative things about Singapore and our government. Every country has it’s goods and bads, if you just focus on the bads, when will you ever see the good in anything at all?

  11. Klaire

You think that the opposition party is SO CAPABLE they can grant you your damn wishes and whatever they promise you after they are selected? LOL DREAM ON and continue dreaming. When the opposition party is addressed with as much concerns from the people of the country like PAP has now, you think the opposition party will be like OH SURE WE SOLVE IT FOR YOU NO WORRIES? LOL. All that talk about equality and removing CPF and blablabla. Don’t even think before they suggest and protest. You think managing your country’s people is that easy? You think it’s an easy task, an easy job? All our schemes implemented were there FOR A GOOD REASON. Yes it may has its bad points, but that’s just life.

  12. Clear

Every time I returned to Singapore, I feel fortunate and proud to be a Singaporean, mainly because our forefathers’ works and PAP good management is undeniable. Come over and live in Cambodia and then you are more qualified to judge after you’ve experienced life yourself here. Government should also provide more space and freedom for citizens to let go their steam, after all we are human being and naturally will complain even given them everything. Woodbridge hospital would be more appropriate instead of jail for some psychopath who cannot stop talking nonsense. Let’s tolerate our small differences and move forward as a nation.

The way I see it, Roy is going to end up like the Chinese man with white beard who always stands for election as an independent candidate wearing the white gown and Arab headgear. Same goes for Amos Yee and Han Hui Hui.

Subtle Denial of Medical Treatment by the Singapore Government for Mr. Teo En Ming (Zhang Enming)

In Brazil(which will be next Greece) pensions are really nice. As so taxes. How about paying 40% of your income to receive a bad health system?

Do not vote for leftist oposition. Let Singapore remains a liberty state!
